I know that many of us have struggles and hardship in our life. Sometimes it is difficult to look past our pain and realize that there are so many things to be thankful for. I think it helps to actually put down in writing some of things and really give energy to that when possible. Besides Thanksgiving is really about appreciating what you do have then it is about eating a ton of grub and falling asleep watching football.

I will start:

I am thankful for: My health. I take for granted that I get out of bed each morning. Do not have to take any medication. Have the use of all my limbs. Do not have any debilitating diseases. Can exercise and play with my children.

My freedom. I live in a country where I can do and say a lot. I am free to pursue an education. I am free to worship in any manner and to any diety(ies).

My safety: I wake up feeling safe. I allow my children to play outside. I do not have to fear that I will be caught in a crossfire or blown up with bombs.

My children. They are healthy. They are loving. They are really, really, good kids.

My relationships: I have some wonderful people in my life. They have been there with me through thick and thin. I am not a man that has a lot of friends, but rather a small circle of really tight knot friends and family. Recently I have been able to add to that circle, and it feels good to have some new energy and support in my life...I am most grateful.

There are so many things I could list...however I will leave it up to you all.

This is a refreshing post after spending so much time on the Infidelity/Other Woman boards and hearing all of the pain, anguish and heartache. It IS a good exercise to practice gratitude, and at this time of year it feels even more appropriate.

I am so grateful for my children... for their health, their happiness, their innocence. I'm grateful for their unconditional, unwavering love for everyone and everything around them. Being their mom has made me a better person.

I'm grateful to have made it through this year. There were times when I truly believed that the pain was going to pull me under for good. I've moved out of the darkness and am emerging a stronger, better person.

I'm grateful for love. Even though this year made me want to turn my back on it, I know now that love can be transformative, real, sustaining and powerful. I now believe that that kind of love exists for me.

I'm grateful for those people in my life that hold me up, challenge me, love me, and call me on my crap.

I'm grateful for my body which I've recently learned to have a renewed appreciation for. Not just it's beauty but its strength.

I'm grateful to be living a comfortable life where we don't go without.

I'm eternally grateful for the brave men and women in uniform that give of themselves so completely for their country. They are my heroes.

I'm grateful to be living in a place and time where I can be who I am without persecution or judgement.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love this. Thanks, DI.

Most of all, I'm grateful to just be here. To be alive.

I'm grateful that I have a healthy body and sound mind.

I'm grateful for a good laugh - it's better than sex (depending).

I'm grateful for the people that care for me, and that I can able to give that care back.

I'm grateful and humbled when people trust and count on me.

I'm grateful when people I adore tell me their life stories, and share with me.

I'm grateful that I can continually be inspired.

I'm grateful that I can continue to learn, and apply what I've learned.

I am so thankful that I can still hope, how certain things can take my breath away.

2009 has been one hell of a year.

Just to extend the attitude of gratitude. I am realized just today how thankful and lucky I am to have a career, work environment, and colleagues that I love. I wake up every morning with a passion for what I do and who I work with. I believe that what I do feeds my soul just as much as those that I help. To do this and make a living from it is truly a gift.

I am grateful always, to understand that its true - god doesnt give us more than we can handle.

I am grateful always, to come from a family that recognized life's dysfunction and embraced with humor the faults that everyone has.

As I told someone just earlier today...I am grateful that I have come to the realization that , regarding life in general...rolling with it is not the same as rolling over.

I am grateful that I have finally reached a place in my life where I am comfortable and striving to simply live sincerely.
