coruscate Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Okay, so, putting "hate on American women" rants to the curb, and keeping them curbed, who is an American, raised in America, who has had experiences dating outside the country and what can you tell me about your experience? Why do I ask? Tired of my luck here and I want a good, positive place to go elsewhere, to. So please, NO SECOND HAND STORIES. Personal experience only.
clv0116 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Foreign women are better. That's my experience, and my current GF was born overseas as well. It depends on what you like, but people in other places tend to feel less entitled than Americans. That and a more traditional way of life make for better dating options. One caution: if you're one of those American males who thinks he should split a check when he takes a girl out, stay home, that crap ain't gonna fly most places overseas.
JohnP82 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I dated a girl from England earlier this year that was an exchange student at my school. That experience really made me wish more American girls were like her. It was a welcome change to date someone that didn't think she was entitled, said thank you when I would do things like open a door or cook for her (not that I was looking for it), offered to pay for dates, etc. Also on a whole all of the Dutch and English girls that were here seemed much more mature than American girls their age.

I thank my H when he does stuff around the house etc, i know technically i dont need to, but I am thankfull so why wouldnt I say so? so you're saying american girls (in general) dont thank their dates for cooking, or holding open the door, or paying?

In my experience American girls feel like if you do something kind (cook, take them on dates, etc) that's what they deserve so why say thank you? It could be a reflection on how the person is raised or maybe it's because they're girls in their mid-20's. It also could be a reflection of the types of guys she dated back in England. Maybe I was different and she was appreciative of that. I remember the first time we tried to hook up she didn't have a condom so we couldn't have sex. She was surprised when I didn't get mad about it and instead laughed it off and waiting until the next day.
