How long does it take to mend your heart?

I've been 70days NC. Shes met someone else...

The pain is still kicking like a mule!!

I'm through denial, into the acceptance zone. I'm calm...But the pain is always present.

I suppose the standard response will be that it depends on the individual... But what about averages and generalizations. Is it reasonable to assume that after say a year I'll feel better? Or more like a decade!!

What are peoples experiences....?

Sometimes there's a little piece that never quite vanishes. It's like a scar, you know? It stopped hurting long ago, but there's still the reminder of that time when you fell of your bike.

Do you believe, as I do, that your feelings follow your thoughts? If you do, then you're going to feel better when you make the decision to do so, and start holding thoughts that support and promote your better feelings.

So basically, it's to change what have become your habitual thoughts, which have been keeping you stuck feeling 'not better'. And they say that can be done in 28 days. So...you could be feeling better in as little as 28 days! But you have to decide it, and then you have to work at managing your thoughts and doing your best to keep more (thoughts) that make you feel better, and less of what makes you feel worse.

*IF* you believe that your feelings follow your thoughts.

Hugs, and best of luck.
