C-life Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 first let me introduce myself for a bit: im an 18 year old , kinda observer type of guy who doesnt really spend much time with people, aside from school and things alike. im quite pessimistic about lotsa things, may suddenly do random stuff ( moving arms randomly during class, jumping circles around classmates during break)( blaming adhd), but sometimes just sit and listen music quietly and forgetting the world... sometimes? no really often. or just watch people i know interact and listen to people talk without actually taking/being part of the conversations. also im quite afraid of any kind of rejection or pain (physical or emotional) the trouble im having is that ive never succeded in having any kind of romantic relationship with a girl in my life, while im seeing increasing numbers of fellow high schoolers getting a gf or bf. you might say: well youre just 18, your time may come. or : its in your attitude, change that and itll be fine. itd be nice to actually know what to do to change this fact ( gf less ness) odds are wayy against me and this may be too incoherent to awnser but please try or ask for refinement ^^ thanks in advance

Not everyone at your age is an extrovert or capable of making small talk. Some folks long into the years maintain a silence and quirky behavior. So be it, its what makes some endearing and others as strange. Its to what extent it interferes with the norms of the locality. I would suggest the mellowing out of the *sudden Abuptness" to launch into strange/awkward behavior...I doubt that its gaining you any positive self esteem. Try utilizing those surges of energy with something productive, My brother took up juggling whilst talking because he couldnt just stand still and talk. But he could talk and juggle and it was an amazing talent! Just a thought.... Doei Doei!
