CanadianBornCutie Posted December 12, 2003 Posted December 12, 2003 My ex and I still see each other, he makes it a point to call me, we spent the weekend together last weekend and it was like nothing had changed, he considers when we see each other "dates" so yeah, we act like a couple, however we are not? it is really confusing he says he cares about me and that i should never question how he feels about me, but right now his life is in a different place and it's not fair for me to be dragged with it. I call him, he calls me back and he tries to clear his calender so we can do stuff together. So again i ask....should i wait? Do i want to wait? I go out with my friends more, and i hang out with other people and keep busy, but some how we always seem to make time for each other......and while we were talking he was saying something and refferred to me as his girlfriend! i think it was just a force of habit, it's just weird! Any similar stories/advice?
Author CanadianBornCutie Posted December 12, 2003 Author Posted December 12, 2003 sorry if this appears twice it doesnt' say it does on my computer..... Author CanadianBornCutie Posted December 12, 2003 Author Posted December 12, 2003 Yeah we were really serious for a year he's 25 i'm 20, and we talked about getting married, but i think we both rushed it really quickly....we never argued...... but yeah i'd 'like to be his girlfriend again......
dyermaker Posted December 12, 2003 Posted December 12, 2003 "his life is in a different place and it's not fair for me to be dragged with it" My guess is that he's not interested. (edit: At least, not interested in the same thing you are)
Author CanadianBornCutie Posted December 12, 2003 Author Posted December 12, 2003 yeah i know he's not ready for a serious committed relationship we've talked about that, he needs to focus on career, but i guess should i wait?
dyermaker Posted December 12, 2003 Posted December 12, 2003 If you are sitting "on deck" waiting for him, he's really not going to be all that attracted to you.
Author CanadianBornCutie Posted December 12, 2003 Author Posted December 12, 2003 Yeah, I guess i'm confused cause he says he is still interested in me and he still wants to date me, but not be in a serious relationship, i'm okay with that.....it's just hard adjusting
adamsb Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 my ex still lives with me as a roommate. Sometimes she will refer to me as "sweetie" or refer to hypothetical children in her future as "our kids" and it does send confusing signals because it may be old habit but it sure hurts when you still love that person and want them back. I know where you are coming from.
