LKS and Heather1 I'm right there with you, I'm still with my MM but if/when it ends and he's not with me they would be the words I would choose.

 

As much as it hurts I'm so glad I got to spend the last 2 years sharing my life with him.

I've read so many posts now and it has me thinking "Are there any people out there involved in affairs that are happy?". Surely not everyone involved in an affair is in emotional turmoil. I would like to hear your thoughts on this and whether anyone is or has been involved in an affair where they were satisfied and happy with the relationship. Surely not everyone involved in an affair wants the OP to leave their M and commit to them? If so and happy affairs do exist what was the outcome? Did things just fizzle out? Has anyone remained friends with the OP? Did you get caught? Is it ongoing? Please don't respond with judgements but just your personal experiences.

 

I was very happy being the OW.

 

I was happy and satisfied with the R in all of my As. I did not want the MM to leave their M - and those that did, were dumped instantly. The happy As ended when I grew bored and dumped the MMs - there were always several on the go at once, so as I got tired of one and dumped him, others would get more "face time" until I filled the vacancy ;) I've never been caught, though one BW did "discover" the A years after it was over, suspecting it was ongoing (the MM and I worked together at that stage. I dumped him when we started working together, as I didn't want things to get messy). When I'm done I move on, so staying in contact was never an issue, but a couple of them have popped up subsequently over the years, and with enough distance between us it's easy enough to be cordial and not resent the intrusion too much.

 

My last A morphed into something else, though, and the R is ongoing in that we're now M.

 

But yes, it worked wonderfully for me. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but if I was in the market for an R, I'd definitely choose to be the OW anyday!
