NC for 9 days, now he writes a Facebook Status for me?

Hey guys,

I've been lurking here ever since my bf of almost 1.5 years dumped me 9 days ago for complicated reasons ("We have to experience college" "Long distance is hard" "We're fighting a lot" "I want us to have a future, eventually" "Maybe we can reassess over winter break?"). Since he broke up with me, I have maintained NC to try and mend my heart.

I have heard no signs from him, which is fine, but today he wrote a status on Facebook that was definitely for me: commenting on the fact that both the Steelers and the Jets lost today (he's only a Steeler fan, I'm the Jets fan). He knows how intense I am about football, so I can see that he's writing this for me--why is he doing this?!

Can someone please knock me back down to reality and tell me that I shouldn't obsess??

Thank you in advance :)

don't obsess... lol.

But seriously, if he really wants something he'll tell you, not hint at it...

let him hint all he wants... but unless he talks to you, forget about him...

even then some would tell you to remain NC.

Don't even look at his facebook status.

I think you might be looking for anything to hold on as far as the football status on facebook. Move on and date someone else. Easiest way to get over it. NC

I agree with the others. Please don't check his Facebook status. It will only prolong the inevitable.

What is the inevitable? That you will see something you DON'T want such as him dating someone new or he says something bad about you.

Start NC NOW. NC includes checking social networking too.

We are here for you. Anytime you feel like checking, come on and we will tell you the reasons why you shouldn't.

Why do you still have him on your friends list? You're doing NC.. Keeping him on fb is only prolonging your healing and letting go.

Anyway, delete him, then you won't see his status updates anymore.

Delete him, let him come and beat down your door if he's serious down the line but at the same time don't wait for him. Stay NC and move forward.
