JaneInVegas Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Does anyone know where I can get a free keylogger? ... one that doesn't come with trojans and spyware and junk? I really need one, and won't have the $$$ for it for at least a couple of weeks. Suggestions?
mcgeehan83 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 (edited) sadly i do its called home keylogger, its free but it will not start by itself after you restart the computer...you have to manually turn it on then manually hide it. Edited November 12, 2009 by mcgeehan83
Author JaneInVegas Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 Well pray tell, please share where you got it from
mcgeehan83 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 are you aloud to post links in here? is there in instant message feature?
Author JaneInVegas Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 I don't know of an IM feature, but I'm pretty sure links are allowed. I have seen people post links like this, too: g*o*o*g*l*e*.*c*o*m But just try it regular if it's a hella long one ... and thank you!
mcgeehan83 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 http://www.kmint21.com/keylogger/ look for the home keylogger the free version it works and is fairly easy to use. i'ld suggest you play with it and such so install it when noone is around
Author JaneInVegas Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 Thank you sooooo much ... HUGS!!
Author JaneInVegas Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 Dude, are you for SURE that there's nothing embedded in that program? My Kaspersky's went nuts over it. Maybe it's just because it's an actual keylogger, but I can shut that off temporarily. It wouldn't even let me download it! If you've used it for awhile without any problems, I'll go ahead and download it. mcgeehan83 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 yes i have used it yes it is safe yes it will set off some...anti spyware sofetware. i have it on here now...
Author JaneInVegas Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 For whatever reason, it wouldn't generate a .txt log file. I disabled Kasperky's and messed around with it, but it kept saying there wasn't a .txt file and would I like it to re-create one? I kept saying yes, but it never would make one. eh ... I feel doomed like I'm never going to find one LOL
FreezorBurn Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 I bought "Family Cyber Alert". Very happy with it. PS some loggers do not work on Windows XP so double check before you buy. PS Be safe just buy a logger.

Our lease is up December 31st, and I need to have an INFORMED DECISION well before then to know whether I'm staying with him into 2010 ... so time is of the essence! Thanks for blurb about Family Cyber Alert
Phateless Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 (edited) www.siteadvisor.com will help you check if you're downloading from a safe source. It's also easy to set a program to start automatically with windows, although I don't know if you can set it to hide itself automatically. Do some googling or search windows help. It's easy. I think you just put a shortcut of the program in the STARTUP folder of the start menu itself. Make sense? find the program you want to start RIGHT-CLICK on it and choose CREATE SHORTCUT RIGHT-CLICK on the shortcut itself and choose CUT Mouse to ALL PROGRAMS DOUBLE CLICK on STARTUP and the folder will open RIGHT-CLICK and choose PASTE You're done. Easy. Just make sure you configure the program to auto-hide itself when you start (if it can do that) otherwise they'll be able to see the program starting. Don't want that!! schewter Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Try googling "all in one keylogger"...installs easily and you get a free trial for about a week or a month...then you can buy it down the road for about 60 bucks.
Author JaneInVegas Posted November 14, 2009 Author Posted November 14, 2009 Schewter ... I owe you a beer, dude! I downloaded it, and it works beautifully! It's free for only a week, but I do believe that will be enough to get everything I need! Thanks a bunch!!

Author JaneInVegas Posted November 14, 2009 Author Posted November 14, 2009 That's like asking for a good bourbon, but without any alcohol. Keyloggers ARE spyware. Maybe I should have rephrased it to "an acceptable form of spyware that only benefits my own personal gains" ?? I know that keyloggers are spyware, but lots of them put extra crap in them for THEIR benefit, while others are made for profit for the consumers benefit. I assumed everyone here pretty much knew the difference.
clv0116 Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Yet another reason why no one ever gets root on my computers.

I assumed everyone here pretty much knew the difference. I assumed you wanted some that were not detected by malware detection software .... which would be what they are. It's like asking for a virus that's not detected by AV - find worse AV and it's easy.
