What exercise does everyone here prefer?

I'm a runner and have been for a very long time. I got a treadmill last winter and it's awesome. I use it at least 3 times per week. The only downfall is that it's way too convenient and I opt to run on the treadmill instead of outside. It's just so nice because I don't have to worry about traffic, weather, wind, cold, etc. I can watch TV or listen to music while I run inside. :bunny:

I also have a spin bike. I don't use it much, only when I'm tired but still feel like exercising.

I'm also trying to throw in a weight class once per week. Every time I exercise, I finish off with sit-ups and the next time I will finish with push-ups. I really notice results with push-ups, but I just need that extra burn so that's why I'm starting the weight class. So far, so good.

Well, long Canadian winters will make you like to have sex. :p

I have a mini trampoline (bounce) :)

It's supposedly what Nasa uses to strengthen astronauts up before and after space flights; I heard that the gforce on every body cell clears out toxins and exercises it, thereby reducing wrinkles, and it also strengthens bones and prevents osteoporosis. Whether it does that stuff or not, it works for weight loss, as well as being great fun.

I love my treadmill as well- I use it for 45 minutes 5 days a week.

I love that I can get caught up in a tv show and before I know it, I am done my workout.

I don't do weight training, but I do enough lifting and moving at work that I get enough burn from that.

I run for 30 minutes on the treadmill (3 miles a day) about 5 or 6 times per week.

I do the eliptical machine probably 3 times per week for about 15 minutes each just to "mix it up."

I do weight training (legs and arms) about 3 times per week.

I swim a 500 meter once a week.

I love exercise!!!! But my love is running on the treadmill, sometimes outside if the whether is nice. It helped me lose a lot of weight and now it is helping me to maintain.

It's great to see that other people like using a treadmill. I always get the old "running outside is better" speech. I've upped my treadmill usage a lot in the last few weeks. However, I'm trying to get pregnant and I don't know if this will affect anything. From what I read, the benefits outweigh the risks.

You will just need to consult with a trainer or pick up a book on exercising while pregnant. You can still run, I'm not sure how much, until a certain point in your pregnany. After that you can walk for exercise. That's what I plan to do when I get pregnant. :)

Yoga is definitely exercise. Walking is not.

Well I disagree about walking. Brisk walking is a wonderful form of excercise. It's good cardio, good for the lungs and for that matter good for the rest of the human body.;)

Cardio followed by weight training. I used to be afraid of weight training and stuck mainly to cardio, but I noticed a great improvement in my body composition since picking up weights and I never regretted it.

I have a preference for the treadmill, especially now that it's the winter, I stick to the treadmill at the gym, follow by half an hour of full body weight training.

If I can't make it to the gym, I work out from home to workout videos I bought, and they give me a good 45 minutes of sweat drenched workout. I love it!

It all depends for me really. But my favorite has to be incline dumbell benches. I loooooveee it...It gives me this HUGE upper body pump...

Also, I do my cardio immediately after weigh lifting. I prefer to do HIIT cardio. It lets me burn more calories in half time than longer, slower sessions.

i swim laps at least 2x's a week (but i try to make it 3x's)... i love the water- i love swimming!

and i take an exercise class 2x's a week which mixed cardio, strength training, and weights

Try power walking. You'll change your mind.

My favorite is my elliptical for a 500 calorie burn and then free weights for my uppers and crunches.

Yes it is.. and I read numerous times that it's the BEST, non violent exercise for 'articulations' and heart, and ...

I prefer walking briskly. I also would much rather go for a walk outside and inhale the fresh air. If I want to up the intensity I head for a part of town with lots of hills.

Primarily weight training...but I try to get creative with the things that I do...I hate running and have been using a sprained ankle as an excuse not to run...I'd love to add some swimming to the mix, but I have a natural tendency to sink to the bottom...most people, when laying completely still, will float on top of the pool...I sink all the way to the bottom...flat on the bottom...doesn't help the swimming effort...

You have too much muscle, just fatten up a bit and you'll float ;)

Sex.

Or salsa dancing, swing dancing, lifting weights, mountain biking, hiking, running, etc.

Sex and salsa dancing are my favorites, though. :)

What speed do you usually cycle at? I just want to know how you pace yourself.

Recreational soccer. Doesn't feel like exercise until it's over and you realize you've been running your butt off for 90 minutes.
