angie2443 Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Someone I care about is in an abusive relationship and claims she has no money to file for a divorce. I'm assuming that there is help for people who need to divorce and have no money. I just don't know where to look. Does anyone know what to do in these situations? For the record, the man she is divorcing has been in and out of jail and is a convicted sex offender. She has a son with him and I don't know if any of this information would help her with financial aid regarding the divorce. Thanks for any advice or info.
tojaz Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Depending on the state, many places, divorces can be filed online for very little and no lawyers, assuming the husband isn't goint to fight to hard. Otherwise, I would look for resources at a battered womens group or family services office. I'm sure something is in place for situations like this. TOJAZ
