Confused728 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 He sent me a text today after one month of NC, he simply said "good morning! hope all is well with you :)" what does this mean, i havent answered yet, what should i do, what do you think is intent is. Today is exactlly one month..
TaraMaiden Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Ah... he's feeding the birds with breadcrumbs, yanking your chain, and throwing you a line to reeeeeel you in and break your heart all over again. This is what you do: Delete text. Block number. Ignore. Move on. Simple. But effective.... Or what also works... I had a pest on my 'phone, and this is what I sent back: * * * This is an automated message: Delivery to the above recipient has not been possible. * * * Then, I blocked their number. It worked. Never heard another peep.
Author Confused728 Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 its possible that if he wanted to work things out i would be interestead in hearing what he had to say? at what point or what should he be saying for me to answer? u think it really is just bread crumbs?
seychelles Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 don't reply. you're just going to be put at square 1 again.
TaraMaiden Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 permit me to direct you to the link in my signature - a piece of writing by a fellow member, called 'Caliguy'. It should be a university of Life Thesis with a pass mark of Honours with distinction: read the bit that says: Q. I've been on NC for some time and my Ex just contacted me, what do I do? Digest the line which reads, "if your ex wants you back nothing will stop them from getting in touch with you." The only thing you should ever consider responding to is: "I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. I realise I made a terrible mistake. I want you back in my life, I need you and I love you." Everything else is just a means to find out how much you still think of them and feel for them. This message was completely neutral, impersonal, and had nothing - BUT NOTHING - in it to even suggest he wants you back. And please believe me, if he wanted you back, he would have said so. Like I said - Ignore it.
Author Confused728 Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 i dont know why he would send this... you think he just wants to see if i want him still or is he trying to start a conversation?
TaraMaiden Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Neither. h He just wants to see whether you'll reply, because then he will know you're still responsive. Like I said, it's known as throwing you breadcrumbs. he might as well have sent that to his mother, for all the interest in YOU, it shows..... I-G-N-O-R-E IT!!!
DustySaltus Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 The best response is complete and utter silence. If it he really wants you back he will get more and more creative with ways of getting in contact with you....then the power is in your hands. But hopefully by then NC has worked for you and you'll see things a lot clearer. Anyone that cares about you, would never let you go in the first place.
TaraMaiden Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 (Caliguy is going to start asking for royalties, pretty soon......! )
DustySaltus Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 lol, definetly...but it's the first thing that needs to be read, although it took me a few months
