It has never happened for me and I am 41 years old.

 

I have met guys that I was attracted to and they never wanted to date me.

 

I met someone earlier in the year and thought it was finally going to happen for me, but it went all wrong

The physical side is always so icky since there is no attraction at all.

DOnt know what you look like but if you arent a physically attractive person chances are the people you attract isnt necessarily gonna be the most physically attractive person

the sex can still be good, even if you aren't drooling over them physically. But typically only if they have other factors that draw you to them. if not, then it is a major sham of the relationship and you should abandon ship and let someone love them that can truly appreciate them.

Most people who are average medicore or ugly get partners who are that,neither party is that attracted to the other but realize theyre not gonna do better since they dont bring much to the table physically themslves

this generalization is iffy. For one, most of the population especially males tend to overestimate their looks while some downplay it (unbeknown to them their really attractive).

 

Their is also the social part where you base your attraction on the people you grew up with (parents, role models etc).

Wow. No. I couldn't have sex with someone I didn't find attractive. I would say there are LEVELS of attraction in people I have dated and definitely, the ones that I was MOST attracted to, the sex was the hottest. But I can't say I was ever in relationship with someone I was not attracted to at all.

I would agree with this as well for me. You have find something about the person that is attractive...yikes!
