JolliX Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I know that I've (I'm a guy) been the last one to get over any breakup that I have been through. I have a couple of buddies that (also guys) that have taken a long time to get over breakups. Right now I don't even know what to think. The girl that just broke up with me is out partying right now, and I can't even begin to think of having fun (I tried going to a party to socialize tonight, but I just broke down). So at least in my experience, girls do get over a breakup much faster.
Eisenhower Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I think what you may be noticing is the fact that when someone dumps you, they've been mentally preparing for it for a long time before the actual dumping takes place ... so the minute it's done, they're already many miles farther down the road than you are as the dumpee. While it may look like they got over it faster, the truth is they've been working on it a lot longer than you have. Eisenhower
HeavenOrHell Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I don't think you can generalise, everyone is different in how they react or cope with a breakup, my ex left me in July and I still feel as s*** as I did when he left, we are still good friends, which might be making it harder to move on. I can guarantee this is going to take me a hell of a long time to get over, and to be honest I don't think I will ever fully recover, ie my life will never be quite as good as when we were together. I can't even thinking about being with someone else in time, it repulses me. I am in a deep depression and the future scares the hell out of me.

Confused728 Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 eisenhower, what kind of signs could the person have been giving off that we missed at the time, my situation is little complicated, if u read my post about the drugs... we had mutural break up i decided i wanted to work things out then he didnt and said he thought we agreed to the break up...
