What are the common reasons that they make fake profiles? What are possible uses of fake profiles? I am not sure but they might even pay for subscription of fake profiles.

Some things, I'll never be able to unsee. What I discovered was the fake profiles are generally for two reasons (there are other reasons, these are the two big ones): 1. Scammers/cons of various sorts. 2. Exes and currents checking up on someone. There are picture collectors and ego vampires, as well. Takes all kinds to make a world - and that goes double, or more, for internet dating sites.

I still do not understand what scammers and ego vampires gain from a fake profile? How a fake profile would boost their ego? I totally understand exes and currents. I can see the point of picture collectors especially when it comes to adult sites. Your paper sounds very interesting to me. Where can I find it to read? Do you have in your paper some advice on how to figure them out at earlier time?

Youre working too hard for a niche that isnt there for you online. The ego vampires might be putting up profiles of pretty people to see what kind of responses they get. Maybe its like getting revenge for the people that turned them down with their original profile. Lead them on for a while them drop them.

So whever you get one of those "someone just messaged you, but you must be a subscriber to see who it is" that's me:cool:.

I have done this.. to look at what other profiles the guys were creating.. checking out the competitionProstitutes, Call Girls.. this is most likely one of the largest reasons why.. they use online dating services to scour for customers.To check up on their BF-GF or ex.To just look at the service and try it out.. just for fun or killing timeBuy a wife service use online dating as well. Get you a Russian bride by the month endSpammers selling their servicesAnother biggie is School Reports.. Students doing projects on online dating or statsPeople just doing testing..
