boostpw Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I have a good friend (male--I'm female) of two years. We talk often, hang out on a weekly basis due to our sports group, so on. We have a good rapport and are comfortable with each other--playing practical jokes, laughing, teasing, share similar interests, usual stuff. One thing sticks out as odd to me, though. He IMs me pretty much daily...he always initiates the conversation and then never really carries it through for the most part. I do the usual small talk--ask him whats up, how his day is going. His replies are typically one word answers and then it falls into silence because I don't like talking to myself or having to talk about myself all the time to keep it going. Oh well! Why IM me if you don't want to talk? It's like this 75% of the time, other times he is talkative and funny. Thoughts?
becky_star Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 He might not like talking on IM.. you could maybe try ringing him? He could just be shy in certain situations too
Author boostpw Posted October 29, 2009 Author Posted October 29, 2009 Thanks for the reply, becky. I would agree with you if it wasn't him IMing me daily. He isn't a shy fella, introverted by confident.
becky_star Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 It's ok chick - I have a question too that's bugging me, hint hint lol. Maybe he's just not sure what to say on IM - some people struggle with netiquette
