ruggy Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 When it asks about smoking on profiles and such, that means cigarettes and stuff, not cigars and other stuff. Right?
aerogurl87 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 When it asks about smoking on profiles and such, that means cigarettes and stuff, not cigars and other stuff. Right? It depends on the person. For me smoking is smoking, whether it be a cigar, weed, cigarettes, or freaking hookah, it's all the same to me. With that said, I'm a devout nonsmoker and would never date someone who said on their profile that they smoked and if I found out they smoked anything I'd have to think long and hard about continuing to date them. And with that said, my boyfriend happens to be a smoker actually but he caught me off guard by capturing me mentally and emotionally before I finally realized he smoked (he hid it very very well). So now I'm dating a smoker, who would've thunk it?
Johnny M Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 When it asks about smoking on profiles and such, that means cigarettes and stuff, not cigars and other stuff. Right? As long as cigar smoking is infrequent (i.e. a couple of times a month, at most), it doesn't qualify as "smoking".
Author ruggy Posted October 29, 2009 Author Posted October 29, 2009 Yea, I have a great pick with a bunch of friends I posted. I looks good, the pic. I never smoked cigarettes and a cigar or hookah once in a blue moon. I have been told when they mean smoking, they mean cigarettes usually not special times of the year or a special occasion that happens once every year or so.
amirpc Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Smoking for me means cigarettes. I don't smoke cigarettes, but I will occasionally smoke a hookah. I am a distance runner (health conscious), and don't consider this the same thing at all.
betamanlet Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 It means any sort of inhaling stuff into the lungs. It's all nasty. San Francisco is a funny town. You can be outside of a bar, smoking i cigarette, getting yelled at by hippies for smoking a cigarette, while they are smoking pot. Tar is tar. Tar is what causes lung cancer. Burn anything, you inhale tar.
Lucky_One Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I'd be ticked if someone portrayed themselves as a non-smoker, but smoked socially. That's misrepresenting the truth. If you enjoy smoking enough to do it, then proud enough of doing it to admit it. I am not sure why you smoke, if you are ashamed of what you are doing?
stace79 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I think if you smoke a cigar once a month or something, you shouldn't necessarily have to call yourself a smoker. However I would either find a way to mention it in your profile or whatever, or bring it up casually in the first few dates. Some people (like me) are extremely anti-smoking of anything. But just because I dislike it doesn't necessarily mean you have to label yourself right off the bat.
phineas Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 The best time I have is going to the golf course with a case of beer & some cigar's. I make sure to tell every woman that, that is what I do for fun in my free time. That & relax on my back porch smoking a cigar & grilling steaks while I listen to music. I don't do it all that often & if it bothered someone I have no problem not smoking. I don't smoke in my house & I don't smoke in my car. (I have kids) I also don't smoke around my kids. I avoid cigarette smoker's myself because their car's, home's, clothing are usually permeated with smoke & make my eyes water.
