SleepyPotato Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Hi there. I'm 20 and I've been dating my boyfriend for just over 2 years. Last night I was concerned because after his class he decided to go out with some of his new classmates and ended up staying the night at one of their houses. This upset me because we had cancelled plans for earlier that day because he had had an emotional freakout the night before about wanting to do more with his career and taking it more seriously. I was fine with that but when I found out he was out with these new friends I felt terrible, as though these other people could make him feel better but I couldn't. I also hated the fact thatbhe stayed at someone who I had never even heard of, let alone knew. He tells me he didn't do anything wrong, and that this kind of networking will help his career. I'm not sure if this is a valid reason to be upset or if I should suck it up.

Author SleepyPotato Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 I think the owner of the house was a guy, but I could hear both girls and guys in the background.
Lakeside_runner Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 How old is this guy and in what way does he understand a party as 'networking'? It just sounds like a quite lame excuse to me... What career does he want to pursue???
alphamale Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I'm not sure if this is a valid reason to be upset... no, actually its not
Author SleepyPotato Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 He's 20 as well. And he's trying to become a professional actor.
alphamale Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 And he's trying to become a professional actor. you should be more upset about that. the competition is fierce and his chances are close to zero that he will EVER make a decent living as an actor. you have to think about your future. you should be out dating guys going into medicine or law or maybe even pharmacy
Lakeside_runner Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I'm sorry but how in the hell can a party be perceived then as 'networking'??? The whole thing sounds like BS, unless this was some major event like meeting a potential producer or a famous manager etc. Come on - whom is he kidding
