I'm not really arguing how well he would do in person, the only argument I am making is that online wouldn't work well for him.

You are saying online will work better for him because he can hide his lack of self confidence. What I am saying is that even with that lack of self confidence hidden, he still doesn't have the tools to be successful online with anything but fat women.

Ugh. He'll at least get a first date (and I'm not talking about with just heavier girls). He'd bomb out in person. Hence, online dating he'd get further. Not far, but further.

And really, it is very rude to make comments like that about heavier people.

Yes, with enough time and effort using the law of large numbers will net him a date with an average woman. Even with lack of self confidence I believe that same time and effort used for online dating can net him more dates in person. Thats just my opinion.

What is rude about the comments I made? Fat women on average are less picky about who they date online in my experience. Makes sense as they are on average less desirable than thin women.

We live in a PC world, where everyone is offended by overthing. You're supposed to say "people of size", though if people were concerned about manlets, they would say we are "Vertically challeneged" but we are fair game. Sucks to be 5'10 and below.

I think online dating is what's causing this slew of frustration from shorter men. At least 95% of the women's profiles I see have a height preference of at least 5' 10". For an attractive woman on a dating site it's like online shopping with Trump's credit card. I'm 5' 10", certainly had my share of good looking women around.

I'm pretty much giving up online dating. I have way better results in the real word where a woman can see, smell, touch and hear me. I'm not bitter or anything, I've had enough conversations to realize that for men online dating is a pure numbers game. It's not my style. The men who have some success with it pretty much mass e-mail the women maybe changing a couple words in each form letter or they are especially attractive in pictures.

I know plenty of shorter men with hot women in their lives. Learn to be happy and secure the rest will follow.

I stopped reading after the first sentence. You're 5'4 and 225 lbs and "not really fat"? Hahaha...according to the body mass index, you are morbidly obese. Clearly, this is a troll post.

P.S. Incidentally, I agree that many short men overestimate the negative consequences of their vertical deficiency. There is no shortage (not put intended) of short women out there. And while it's true that nearly every short woman wants a tall man, tall men generally prefer tall women, so many of these short women end up having to settle for short men. In the end, things balance themselves out.

My thoughts too - I'm 201 lbs. and 6'2" and I think I still need to lose 5-10 lbs. to be the ideal weight.
