i think he's ignoring me.. how can i tell if he read my facebook messages?

i sent this guy private messages on facebook.. not posting to his wall but via private mail. i'm not too familiar with facebook, i've only started using it but is there a way for me to see if he has read my messages yet?

 

i ask because i've seen ppl on here discuss this before, that they knew their ex or whatever had not read the private messages they sent.. how can u tell?

 

it'd b great if someone could get back to me

On FB, no,you can't see if they read them. You can, apparently on Myspace.

ahh right thanks, that must be what i read before.

 

this is a new guy that i met recently. we met up afew times, he was sooo keen, constantly calling and texting me but then suddenly on thursday and all weekend.. silence.. i have heard nothing from him in 4 days. it's so strange. and i know he is still alive lol. i sent him a text msg and facebook msg but got no response to either, that was on thursday

so i'm just going to leave him alone and let him contact me.. if he ever does..

 

he may not have credit on his phone but then if that was the case he could always just email me or facebook me.. i'm tempted to text and saying something like ''hey, haven't heard from u in a while, is everything ok?" but i don't want to appear needy

Just leave it. Texting/msg again will look a bit desperate. If he is interested, he will get in touch.

You have done enough. Don't send anything else ... that could turn him off.

From what I know about FB the Private mail is emailed immediately to the email address in the account so the user doesn't even need to login to read it.

 

So..

 

He got your email.. did he read it ?.. if he checked his personal, regular email then yes he did.

If he logged into FB then yes he did..

thanks guys, i'm going to just leave it.. 4 days now so to be honest i'm not really expecting to hear from him. just very weird tho, this guy was soooo keen, like almost childishly so, he kept calling, texting.. and i answered friendly and he knew i liked him altho i played it kinda cool.. but we talked of meeting up again in our convo on wednesday, then thursday comes and nothing, all weekend- nothing. just strange as he was so keen before and our last convo talked of meeting up again.

 

i dunno if he has been on facebook as ther have been no updates on his page and normally he would post things but he was on his bebo page today so he is alive ( i am not his friend on bebo, i just nosied at his page to see any sign of life lol ) i'm thinking maybe he is a player.. damn, just as i was really starting to like him, he backs off/disappears.. i'll leave it, i sent the last 2 msgs, if he wants me he knows where i am

 

gutted tho, after all the crap my ex put me through i finally thought id met a sweet guy.. and he is good looking too.. oh well, watch this space.. personally i think he is lying low and wants rid of me lol
