For some reason there is an error on my account. I have been unable to access e-mail within my account. I just received an e-mail from a OC match. I have no idea what it says, though I would like to read it. For the last three days, though it seems she sent the e-mail to me today. I called each day and they said they are working on it and it will be fixed shortly. But, what they will do for me, is if I pay them now for a renewal it will miraculously fix the issue and I will have immediate access to the account. So I have two options. 1, wait and see if and when they fix the account. 2, pay them the extortion fee. 3, contact the match on Match.com ( I saw she has an account there - though not sure if that would look creepy or desperate). It could be a good or bad e-mail, not really sure. But do not see many options here.

What do all of you suggest?

you obviously have to pay them to renew your account. thats how E-Scam-Your-Money works :)

No doubt, but the account has not expired yet. There's the issue.

Tell them your contacting your State Attorney General on the grounds of extortion.

Tell them you want to turn off your account and need a refund.

Don't they also do a "free communication" wknd or something every now and then? If you can't even access your account on those days, then it really does sound like a scam. Sorry they're taking advantage.

Thought about that but does not enable me to read the emails I've received. Thats the main issue; aside from the scummy ways in business.

Call them. I would call them and talk to them about this issue. Usually they fix it immediately. At least that's what they did in my case.

I say just contact her on Match. I don't see what the big deal is. I'd be flattered. Just explain the situation to her. Then I'd be reporting eH to every agency I could think of. BBB, sec of state, etc.

I know I've heard of a few sites where they stage "subscribers" to send emails to non-subscriber feigning interest, in order to get a(nother) $30/mo and then poof. But if you saw her on Match, contact her there! What's the worst that can happen?

Automated bot response. I used to get paid to write these scam emails for online dating sites. Take the money for the subscription and invest it in a hooker instead.
