espec10001 Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I'm a guy with sky blue eyes. The first thing I notice about a female is her eyes. For some reason every girl that I've dated has had brown/black eyes, and I find that the only eye color that I'm ever attracted to is brown/black eyes. I don't know what it is but could this be the whole opposites attract thing? I've met some really pretty girls before and I couldn't see myself dating them because their eyes weren't dark enough. Like to me blue eyes look cold, like I'm looking in the mirror. But with brown eyes, they give off this feeling of warmth and heat. Or maybe, do women with dark eyes tend to find men with blue eyes more attractive? All the dark eyed girls I dated said they fell for my blue eyes, as I fell for their brown/black eyes. Does this make me shallow?
GorillaTheater Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Preferences for one physical attribute or another doesn't make you shallow, but casting people as "opposites" based merely on eye color seems a bit odd.
Author espec10001 Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 I just mean physical attributes not personality like light vs. dark you know?
carhill Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Yes, I vastly prefer women with hair on their head OP, you like what you like. In time, that will change. And again, and again. Then, you'll die. Enjoy
Author espec10001 Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 Well we all gotta go someday I don't understand why you'd say that
tigressA Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 It's totally not shallow. We like what we like, nothing else to say about it, really. The contrast between light and dark is appealing to some, including myself. I've always been attracted to guys with baby blues and I have really dark brown eyes.
carhill Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Well we all gotta go someday I don't understand why you'd say thatThe ultimate change (and ultimate opposite) is death. When you're older, you'll understand better. You'll also come to realize the balance between attraction and compatibility. It has nothing to do with blue or brown eyes. In the meantime, continue dating dark-eyed ladies. It's all part of the path.

Author espec10001 Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 That I'm attracted to death?
Jersey Shortie Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 This brown eyed girl loves a blue-eyed man. I remember a girlfriend that use to actually wear brown contacts and she had beautiful blue eyes. OP, do your parents have blue eyes or brown?
Author espec10001 Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 My mom has blue eyes just like mine and my dad has green eyes. I think part of the reason I don't like any color but brown or black is because of my parents
Jersey Shortie Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Do you not have a good relationship with your parents?
Author espec10001 Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 No I do but I just find brown to give off this warmth vibe, like that song "Behind Blue Eyes". I guess I just like to be with girls that are warm, and I find blue eyes to be cold but brown eyes girls seem to find them really attractive.

Or maybe, do women with dark eyes tend to find men with blue eyes more attractive? All the dark eyed girls I dated said they fell for my blue eyes, as I fell for their brown/black eyes. Does this make me shallow? Hmmm. You did state that you are referring to physical opposites, correct? I am tall. I perfer guys who are my height or taller. I have a fair complexion. I usually prefer guys who have a fair complexion. I have green eyes. Eye color really doesn't matter much to me. I use to only like blue eyes (my father has blue eyes). I now, however, tend to prefer dark eyes--they somehow seem more contemplative and seductive. Anyway, I think opposite personality types tend to attract, but I don't think it's true that physical opposites necessarily attract. I'll have to consider this further and get back with you.
SoulSearch_CO Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I remember reading something once about how brown eyes make you want to trust the person more. So there may be something to the light eyes vs dark eyes thing. Maybe you're just keying into that. Me - I had generally been with guys with brown eyes before the most recent guy I dated. He has the most piercing bright blue eyes. It can be a little unsettling. But I don't find them a turn-off at all. I think perhaps Carhill's point was that you're fixating on one particular feature that for the most part is not really important when determining partner compatibility. Don't write off a whole person for one tiny feature. But no - I don't think it makes you shallow. It's just a preference. Yes, you're drawn to brown eyes. Because of "opposites attract," who the heck knows? I think maybe more likely, you've had good experiences with people with brown eyes, along with what I mentioned in my first paragraph about brown eyes appearing more trustworthy.
