quankanne Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 look at that HAIR!!! she's gorgeous, SB – congratulations to you and her papa, you're gonna have so much fun with her. a couple of things: My one nephew was a big boy, weighing 8 lbs, 6 oz, and my sister said that he was a dream baby, very contented and rarely fussed; she thinks it was because he WAS a bigger baby. His brother was about 1.5 pounds lighter, scrawny and VERY squawky ... who knows? other thing I've heard is that with each baby, labor gets progressively shorter. We'll have to get other moms on here to verify that, though! hugs and love to your little family quank
Cora Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I'm a little late on this, but congratulations sb!!! She is absolutely adorable!!!
Author sb129 Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 How's your fellah coping? The reason I ask, is because I know sometimes dads tend to get sidelined, and sometimes they feel a bit 'redundant'.... So I hope he is feeling every bit a part of the fun as you are He sure is! He does the later evening feed so I can go to bed, and he has mastered nappy and clothes changing already. We almost argue over whose turn it is to attend to her.... he hates going to work too and rushes home for lunch... *** my apologies sb! I missed this thread -- I don't know how! I feel ashamed of myself! Oh IG you have alot going on at the moment, I know that. look at that HAIR!!! a couple of things: My one nephew was a big boy, weighing 8 lbs, 6 oz, and my sister said that he was a dream baby, very contented and rarely fussed; she thinks it was because he WAS a bigger baby. I think we are having the same thing- she is SO content, I often have to wake her for feeds and she settles herself to sleep really well. Fingers crossed it lasts!

missdependant Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 oh, hey MissD I was wondering how you were! congrats on the arrival of your little girl, hope all is well. Things are great.. I'm adjusting to the new parenting sleep schedule, as I'm sure you know how that goes. The first few weeks of non-sleep were easy.. but I'm returning to work on Tuesday (unfortunately) so it will probably be hard then. Though, she's finally on a sleep schedule. I love her, though.. she's the greatest. And your girl is precious! I just looked at the picture.. Sooooo cute, I LOVE babies!
Author sb129 Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 MissD- you are truly amazing to be going back to work so early. I salute you, and hope it hasn't been too hard. So- the first month has passed, and we survived! I can barely remember the first few weeks now they passed in such a hormonal, emotional sleep deprived daze. Our little gem is changing every day, and she is developing much more of a personality. Things are settling down and we are trying to structure our days a bit more which is going pretty well. I am not a fan of rigid baby routines a la Gina Ford (and I actually don't see how people manage to make those work without an army of additional household staff), but babies like predictability so we are going with "flexible structuring". So far so good. Loving being a mother, although its not always easy. thanks to everyone for the well wishes...
