Chantal Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 There is a very nice lady at this office who has helped me a lot and many others. She recently was hospitalized. I would like to send a beautiful basket of flowers at her work and a card from all of us wishing her for a speedy recovery. Will this gesture from us have a good impression on her boss and her coworkers or instead it will create more jealousy for her? I would appreciate your input.
Trialbyfire Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Flowers are a lovely gesture to say thank you to someone who's helped you a lot. There's no way to tell if people will be happy for her or get jealous. I wouldn't worry about pettiness. Just go ahead and surprise her.
Malenfant Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 if the lady is still off work with her illness, wouldnt it be better to send them to the hospital? or ask someone she works with to send them to her home? flowers not much good sitting on her empty desk, but your sentiment is a very nice one, and its lovely to be told you're appreciated. certainly dont worry about what her co-workers think.
2sure Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I dont like "romantically" sent flowers at work, but this is different. Flowers as thank you, flowers for congrats, flowers to recognize something...all appropriate, especially from a group. Very thoughtful gesture.
Author Chantal Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 Thank you very much for all your responses. We will then definitely send her a basket of flowers at her work and wishing her a speedy recovery. I am sure someone who knows her will deliver the flowers to her from all of us. And like you said who cares how her coworkers will react, we are sending our love to this one nice lady. Maybe this gesture from us will show to everyone else that kindness is indeed appreciated.
