mark1210 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Hey All-- So I'm about to become exclusive and one of my lady friends suggested I get a "New Relationship" type card and place the receipt of our first date in the card. While it sounds like a good idea, it may be a bit much...what do you all think? Any verbiage on what I should put on the card should I choose to get one? I'm not good at filling out cards lol. Mark
kiss_andmakeup Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Relationship suicide. Seriously. I have never received, or even heard of a "new relationship" card. That's just weird. And with the whole receipt thing? Wayyyyyyyyy too much.
tigressA Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 No, don't do that now. Just don't. Save the receipt-in-a-card-thing for Christmas or V-Day. That would be super cute. It would also be a much more appropriate time. I personally would be weirded out if I had gotten something like that from a boyfriend just as we were becoming exclusive. I've also never heard of a "new relationship" type of card. This lady friend of yours sounds a bit off her rocker.
JustLooking123 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Agree with the other posters. Do not do that. Who knew they even made that kind of card??!?
Soul Bear Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 That would be great way to make yourself look like a complete pansy. If I was a girl, I would probably run, and even being a guy, I would still run.
Soul Bear Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Who knew they even made that kind of card??!? Card companys will cash out on any human emotion. The don't care who buys them, because they know that there are people out there, like the OP's slightly loopy friend, who would consider it.

Author mark1210 Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 LOL - glad I posted....sounded a bit over the top to me but wanted other folks opinion. Verdict = not gonna do it. Thanks!
TheLoneSock Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 If it were her birthday I could see getting her a cute/funny card or something, but as for one just because you're going exclusive... no. Your lady friend is giving you strange advice. Edit: Ok good you're not going to do it. Problem solved.
boogieboy Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 LOL - glad I posted....sounded a bit over the top to me but wanted other folks opinion. Verdict = not gonna do it. Thanks! Yeah and stop listening to this woman, shes loco and corny. She might be tryin to sabotage you....
tigressA Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Yeah and stop listening to this woman, shes loco and corny. She might be tryin to sabotage you.... Yeah, that was my first thought as to this lady friend too, actually. She might be trying to sabotage your relationship because she's secretly interested in you. If I were you I'd keep an eye out for any more strange ideas/behavior coming from her.
singlegirl Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Soooo glad you aren't going to do it....I am crazy about my new man but to be honest, he had my photo on his phone and i saw it twice last night, totally weirded me out ...I know it's lovely but my natural rection was cringing Take it slow with her, show her how you feel when you feel it. She is really into you if you guys are exclusive....Don't take advice from that other woman , best of luck with it
