I don't know all of the reasons Kelly stayed so long with her husband. Since he's never at home, he poses little threat to their children. I won't judge her because I wasn't there.

 

it's highly possible that her husband will quit drinking when he hears her say divorce... then she'll feel so guilty for his recovery that she'll end up staying. i see this all the time. just be aware of the way things often go with the spouse who's drinking.

Good luck to the both of you. Even though the odds could be stacked against you - just stay the course. You will be ok :)

I'm aware that that's a possibility. I'm sure there are many MM that thought their OW was serious about leaving there H so I won't try to rationalize why I think she's serious. In all honestly, I love her and want her to be happy. If he changed and made her happy, she and the kids would be better off. I'd be devastated, of course, but still happy for her. In fact, I have told her this on several occasions in the past.
