Jaytb Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Obviously, but that doesn't make the situation okay. Or, do you think it does? you can tell her how you feel about this situation. I don't think the situation is okay regardless, but it's her business and not yours. I don't know. Maybe she feels safe. Maybe she doesn't. Just tell her about your thoughts, if she doesn't see it the same way as you then don't try to make it your business.
JohnP82 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Yeah the husband sounds like a jerk. However she is an adult and has no one to blame but herself for staying with someone that doesn't sound like they are looking out for her well being.
johan Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I wouldn't be particularly proud of an Ultima. I definitely wouldn't be an a**hole about it. I have other things to be an a**hole about. If it were my car, I'd park it out on the street and hope someone stole it. The girlfriend could park inside. But I'm not sure what is worse: he thinks an Ultima is so great, or he doesn't work on getting her a decent car.
norajane Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Why don't they save up some money and buy another parking space in the parking garage? Then they can both park in there. In the meantime, he should be parking on the street.
Trimmer Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 In other words, not only is his car safe when he gets home, but HE is safe and protected. She is not. This angers me. It also angers my BF. His car comes before her safety? Ladies, if you were in her shoes, where would you be parking? At the new apartment I moved into in a safer part of town. (Sorry, I couldn't resist. Maybe it's not that bad, but still...)
jerbear Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Altima is not an Maxima or Infiniti. Anyway, guess I'm old school in allowing the girl park inside or let her drive the better car. Being a guy also means dealing with it.

Trimmer Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I'm not following....? I meant "I'd be parking at my new apartment, that I moved into by myself, because he wasn't concerned enough with my safety..." It would be funnier if they were "just" boyfriend and girlfriend, and you could imagine her moving out over this. Not so great when they're married and they can't come to a solution. But I couldn't resist answering "ladies, where would you be parking?" I had to quickly scan the thread to be sure nobody had made the joke yet.
Author Star Gazer Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 Ahhh, I get it now. Early morning, not enough coffee. I wish they were just renting, but they actually paid a lot of money for this place.
sadintexas Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 From the outside looking in, not only is this is a complete insult to the wife (the complete disregard for her safety) but it's a total dealbreaker. Not this issue itself, but the pure selfishness shown by this man. I'm more than sure this carries over to other parts of their lives as well. My solution, your BFF needs to find a new place to live...alone...and sue him for the Altima in the divorce
TheLoneSock Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Hmm... depends what kind of car it is... Lol no really, if the situation is going to be like that, he should be either walking her home after parking, or parking it there himself for her. Get her into some firearm classes as well for the times he can't be there. I had a girlfriend once that worked in a shady part of town and would always call me on her cell so I could 'walk' her to her vehicle after work.
