Rooster_DAR Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Perhaps just one more nail in the coffin for non-evolutionists.
2sure Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Oh yeah - are you talking about ARDI??? I hope I didnt miss the broadcast?
Author Rooster_DAR Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 Yeah, you missed it last night. It was the 2 hour documentary. Awesome stuff.
Author Rooster_DAR Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 I forgot to insert the link. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8285180.stm
northstar1 Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Yeah, you missed it last night. It was the 2 hour documentary. Awesome stuff. Well, there's still all that stuff about dust and adam and his rib bone.
Author Rooster_DAR Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 That still could be a possibility, but not on our evolutionary branch. Ha!
TheLoneSock Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I caught this too last night by accident, it was really cool. It kind of sucks that it's going to take almost a decade to learn most of what can be learned about her, but what a lucky find none the less. I'm sure they will learn lots of little things each day.
clv0116 Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I don't see the big deal, it could just be yet another extinct species right?
Author Rooster_DAR Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 It's a really big deal. Charles Darwin stated that unless the transitional forms that led to modern humans were found, his theories were worthless. This could be a prime specimen that leads to us, I think that is a huge deal not only for his theories, but for the knowledge of all mankind. Cheers!
FleshNBones Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 When a skeleton is that fragmented, it is more art than science. I wonder if I can recreate a prehistoric dog by rearranging the bone fragments. Who knows, we might have another hoax on our hands. Wouldn't be the first time.
quankanne Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 pretty cool possibilities with that finding, though I'm sure there are people who are going to be howling at the thought of being related to a monkey It's a really big deal. Charles Darwin stated that unless the transitional forms that led to modern humans were found, his theories were worthless. This could be a prime specimen that leads to us, I think that is a huge deal not only for his theories, but for the knowledge of all mankind. does this mean that if the "monkey don't fit, we must acquit" the Darwinian theory? Because it can only work if the missing link can be found. What happens next, if science can't prove this? Does it then become a joke the way people of a scientific bent have made belief in God to be? frankly, I think there's ample room for both, if one is willing to open his/her mind to the possibility, much like mankind is being asked to believe he's got a monkey in his gene pool to make sense of self.
clv0116 Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Well what they've found is almost surely an extinct ape. Whether or not it's more is an interesting question, but if evolution is true and common enough to create successful species I'd think finding a few unsuccessful species wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Anyone know if it is airing again, or can be found online?
quankanne Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 a few unsuccessful species ouch! that sounds a bit mean northstar, go to the station's website and check there, that's how I usually find shows I'm looking for.
clv0116 Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 ouch! that sounds a bit mean Well you know, extinct and all - hahahaha. Love you long time sailor.
Author Rooster_DAR Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 Anyone know if it is airing again, or can be found online? Discovery and Science Channel usually will run it over again a few times. I would not be surprised if it's on all week long.
Toki Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 It is of course a very well known postulation, that the Earth was indeed Created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster, and that fossils, and records of Evolution aren't real, they were put into our 2,000 year old earth by him to trick us into thinking the Earth is much older than it really is.

LOL! That's what my mom used to teach me when I was a kid. If it contradicts that scripture, the devil did it.
RA1 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Perhaps just one more nail in the coffin for non-evolutionists. The non-evolutionists have various stock replies such as it's a hoax, or it's not a transitional form but an independent creation of god.
Author Rooster_DAR Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 The non-evolutionists have various stock replies such as it's a hoax, or it's not a transitional form but an independent creation of god. Oh yeah, that is so true. Some of the familiar are "The Devil Put it There", or "They are Just Making that Up". LOL!
northstar1 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Oh yeah, that is so true. Some of the familiar are "The Devil Put it There", or "They are Just Making that Up". LOL! People just believe what they want to believe. There is evidence in multiple museums in the world of intermediaries (Australopithicus, Homo Habilus, Homo Erectus etc), yet people still chose to deny it.
