Thornton Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 I agree with everything posted so far. The one about not liking animals really resonates with me though... if a guy so much as squishes a spider I simply will not date him again, because he's a cruel person with no compassion. Someone who blows their nose on their napkin is a huge turn off too... urgh, that's to put on your lap or wipe your hands with, not for blowing your nose! A guy once took me to dinner, blew his nose on his napkin, then left it on his plate for the waitress to take away... and I was like eww, have you no manners, she has to pick that up with her hands! Come to think of it, I tend to feel that blowing your nose in front of another person is terribly rude anyway, especially if there's food around... have some manners and go to the bathroom to blow your nose; please don't eject gross bodily fluids right in front of me, particularly if I'm eating.
bac Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 1 is an unattracrive appearance, including outfit. 2 is what you say. It is not about details what you say. It is about your attitude. In other words, if you want to score, you say only what she wants to hear. Do not say her your male's truth. And you do only what she wants.
Star Gazer Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 It's a huge f***ing turn off if I find out that the guy showers only once a day! Really?? Do you usually date guys who'd NEED to shower twice or more a day?
Star Gazer Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Guys that are insecure. . . Bingo!!! Most of my turn-offs stem from this.
aerogurl87 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Guys who: have messy hair or clothes smell bad say they don't believe in God have dirt under their nails smoke talk too much about how much money they make talk too much about exes talk about how much the bill was ask too many questions about your past relationships I really could go on...maybe I will later Haha you know what's funny about this is that I agree with everything on this list, yet my boyfriend does two of these things (doesn't believe in God and smokes), yet for some reason they don't really bother me. Hmm...
SilverChrome Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Really?? Do you usually date guys who'd NEED to shower twice or more a day? No, this thread reminds me of the guys where I was for the last 1 1/2 years ago. They don't shower more than once a day, it's unhygienic! Don't you think?

Don't you think? Most people in the US shower once a day, in the morning (a second time only if after a workout.)
SilverChrome Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Most people in the US shower once a day, in the morning (a second time only if after a workout.) Oh ... really? Why? Coz of how cold it can get there?

Don't you think? No, I don't think! In the summer, BF and I might shower twice a day to freshen up, but during the other seasons its typically only in the morning, after the gym. If we go to the gym or for a run or something after work, we'll shower a second time as well. But for the most part, only once a day. Where are you, Chrome?
Storyrider Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Oh ... really? Why? Coz of how cold it can get there? I can only answer for myself, but unless I work out and sweat, I just don't get that dirty over the course of a day.
Citizen Erased Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 I can only answer for myself, but unless I work out and sweat, I just don't get that dirty over the course of a day. Me either but I still shower twice. Maybe it's because it's hotter here, I don't know...
aerogurl87 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 I can only answer for myself, but unless I work out and sweat, I just don't get that dirty over the course of a day. I'm the same way. My boyfriend on the other hand showers at least twice a day (once before work and once afterward since he sweats alot at his job). But as for me, I work in a building with great climate control and so I only need to shower once a day, unless it's in the summer and I feel all sticky from the heat.

Don't call me Chrome Reminds me of Chrome Barracuda . I'm not going to pretend like I'm all that new on here but I must say that I find your posts very interesting and for most part, I agree with them Tokyo, people don't shower here that much [my circle of people, anyway]. It's cold here sometimes but there's the water heater! But I get it if one does not do a lot of work or sweat a lot, then there is no need to shower more than once a day. I have lived in hot coutries and got used to shower twice a day, sometimes 3 if it's really hot!!

At times when I have been in NY or Boston where the humidity is high, and on foot as opposed to always in an air conditioned vehicle, I admit I have gotten sweaty enough to shower twice.

This could be it for me too. I live in a very dry climate. I went from 102 here, to only 79 in NYC where it was much more humid, and felt like I was dripping sweat in the city... One day, I literally showered THREE times! But back to turn-offs... most of mine are personality driven, rather than superficial. I think, anyway.
Janicee Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Many have been stated but additonally, 1. too keen in religion 2. Force me to have religion 3. Satisfying his own needs only in sex 4. Easy to give excuse to dump a lady 5. Mood change easily 6. Words louder than actions
Reginald Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 ghetto nonesense Wow..! What a Great saying.. Ha ha ha ha....
sunshine_08 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 a negative guy is a huge turnoff, a guy who talks about himself way too much and barely asks about the girl, a criticizer, one who likes to control everything and the girl has no input, a short tempered man, a guy who treats his mother like crap and family in general, a substance abuser/alcoholic...to name a few
ecm Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 I think this is the same list from the thread why do "bad boys" turn you on: - arrogant - smart azz and loud - sloppy - no manners - bad hygiene - broke (financially) - driving an old rusty car - lives with a roomate (over 40) -Doesn't call when he says -Disappears and then reappears -Doesn't answer texts/calls/emails in a timely manner -Unhealthy eating habits -Not interested in any kind of exercise nor physical activity (other than sex) Talks way too muchTalks about what he has - money, cars but I see nadaBurpsSloppy dresserTalks with his mouth fullChews with his mouth openTries to hard to impress me1) Talk/ brag about money 2) brag about anything...I don't really care if you're a "superstar" if we like you 3) lie/ exxagerate 4) take texts/ calls (unless it's an emergency or something) 5) be rude to the waitress/ or any service person 6) HIT on the waitress/ or any service person 7) go in for a kiss after I wouldn't kiss on the first date 8) cry. Sorry (lol) but really. I mean unless you go to a really sad movie. 9) burp/ poot, etc. Cheating Too much superficiality GrayClouds: I see my list made your post... are you saying you agree? Or that mine is among the superficial?? ps as I read the others I have to agre and add bad breath to my list. Not like GARLIC bad breath, but like "doesn't floss so his mouth smells like dookie" bad breath.
Jersey Shortie Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Never lay all your life's problems on the table on the first few dates. I had gone out with one man that asked me out from my gym. He seemes so upbeat. He was blond and blue-eyed and from California orginally. When we ended up going out he just talked about all his problems in the name of "wanting to be upfront". I felt like his sounding board, not a date. We all have problems. First, second and third dates aren't for talking about them. It's for getting to know someone on a basic level. Also, it turns me off when I am on the first couple dates with a man and he is looking at other women. If he isn't interested on being on his best behavior now, he won't be later. Which makes him bad boyfriend material. there are alot more but those stick out.
