midawg Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Ladies this question is for you. When you are first dating someone ... let's say the first four or five dates ... what are some of the biggest turnoffs men can do? Anything you have seen which just "creeps" you out?
bluewolf17 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 There is a lot a guy can do to turn a girl off. One thing that is big with me is anger. If a guy talks about how he hates his ex, how is life sucks, how the world is against him..etc. Basically if he is a negative person I run the other way. Also someone that want's things too soon. Like if I mention..oh, the San Juan Islands. And he says "oh, I have always wanted to go, we should go next weekend!"..Uh, no, I don't think so. Waay to soon.
Trialbyfire Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Cheating creeps me out. Beyond that, I don't recall a guy who I've gotten involved with, that's creeped me out in any other way. Now turn-offs is a different story. Too much superficiality turns me off but that's a negative trigger in me.
ecm Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 oooh, this is fun. In no particular order after #1 1) Talk/ brag about money 2) brag about anything...I don't really care if you're a "superstar" if we like you 3) lie/ exxagerate 4) take texts/ calls (unless it's an emergency or something) 5) be rude to the waitress/ or any service person 6) HIT on the waitress/ or any service person 7) go in for a kiss after I wouldn't kiss on the first date 8) cry. Sorry (lol) but really. I mean unless you go to a really sad movie. 9) burp/ poot, etc.
SilverChrome Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Talks way too muchTalks about what he has - money, cars but I see nadaBurpsSloppy dresserTalks with his mouth fullChews with his mouth openTries to hard to impress me
Lizzie60 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I don't even think I would see him after the very first date if he was a turn-off.. - bad breath - arrogant - smart azz and loud - sloppy - no manners - bad hygiene - broke (financially) - driving an old rusty car - lives with a roomate (over 40)
SilverChrome Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Ladies this question is for you. When you are first dating someone ... let's say the first four or five dates ... what are some of the biggest turnoffs men can do? Anything you have seen which just "creeps" you out? My bad! I read your post wrong. I thought it meant biggest turn-offs a man can do on a first date!
Lauriebell82 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Off the top of my head: -bad breath (that's #1!!!!) -too sarcastic -makes disgusting jokes -burps/farts -bad table manners -snores -texts like crazy on dates -brags about himself too much -complains about everything -hits on other girls in front of me I think my biggest turn off is guys who are constantly joking around and are never serious. Or make some stupid obnoxious joke then follow it up with "oh i'm just playin." That pisses me off!
LDR Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Agreed with all of the above! Plus: -Doesn't call when he says -Disappears and then reappears -Doesn't answer texts/calls/emails in a timely manner -Unhealthy eating habits -Not interested in any kind of exercise nor physical activity (other than sex)
GrayClouds Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I think this is the same list from the thread why do "bad boys" turn you on: - arrogant - smart azz and loud - sloppy - no manners - bad hygiene - broke (financially) - driving an old rusty car - lives with a roomate (over 40) -Doesn't call when he says -Disappears and then reappears -Doesn't answer texts/calls/emails in a timely manner -Unhealthy eating habits -Not interested in any kind of exercise nor physical activity (other than sex) Talks way too muchTalks about what he has - money, cars but I see nadaBurpsSloppy dresserTalks with his mouth fullChews with his mouth openTries to hard to impress me 1) Talk/ brag about money 2) brag about anything...I don't really care if you're a "superstar" if we like you 3) lie/ exxagerate 4) take texts/ calls (unless it's an emergency or something) 5) be rude to the waitress/ or any service person 6) HIT on the waitress/ or any service person 7) go in for a kiss after I wouldn't kiss on the first date 8) cry. hopesndreams Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Asks too many personal questions and tells me his life story. The first few dates should just be about fun, IMO.
aerogurl87 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Ladies this question is for you. When you are first dating someone ... let's say the first four or five dates ... what are some of the biggest turnoffs men can do? Anything you have seen which just "creeps" you out? Let's see, when a man talks about his ex constantly that turns me off. When he treats the staff at the venue he takes me out too, badly that's a turnoff. Then when he nitpicks everything I do or is way too hypocritical of what I do (ex. mannerisms, the way I talk, etc) even if it's done in a joking manner, that's a turn off.
alphamale Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 i would think having no money would be #1 on the list
aerogurl87 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I remember when I was dating this guy who would've been awesome. He did all the gentleman like things like open doors for me, paid for everything, and was always nice to the staff when we went out (tipped well too). He was also wealthy but didn't brag about his money or try to flaunt it unnecessarily, which was nice. But he was constantly on his blackberry! I swear he never put it down and to me that was a HUGE turnoff.
eiithan Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Besides what have been listed: - Bad table manners. It just gets on my nerves. - Laughing at everything/at his own jokes. It also gets on my nerves. - Ignorant/discriminating/insensitive comments. Had this stunning looking guy sat next to my table, we somehow ended up having a conversation. I mentally covered my ears when he started talking about how stupid Philip K. Dick novels are. PKD may not be a Nobel/Booker/Pulitzer winner but still is so much smarter than you, idiot.
Citizen Erased Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 - Cheaters - Racists - Bums - Having no concept of personal space - Cries (sorry, I don't even do that and I actually have a vagina, mate). - Makes me watch cricket - Listens to rap or house music. I could tolerate anything else but those two. - New Again made me think of something, talks ghetto. I think it's best someone like not be be around me as I may smother them with a pillow. I have a lot of turn offs but the others I can handle.
Island Girl Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Guys that are insecure and preoccupied with the size of their hands. Negative guys who claim they would would kill themselves over superficial meaningless things. Drama Kings. Also guys who worry about what everyone else thinks. Oh and everything everyone else already posted.

Island Girl Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Whatever could you mean? OH! Did I omit that it is a man that is obsessive about any part of their body...? Because that is a turn off too. But I mentioned HANDS specifically. Ummmmmmmmm. Wonder why that is?? *thinking*
laRubiaBonita Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 if a guy......... * loves his car * talks bad about people in a stereotypical sort of way * treats his mother, sisters, family bad * has gross teeth * has a totally nasty, disgusting, biohazard-esq home * if he is mean to animals * if he speeds for no reason AND if he has abnormal road rage * if he lives with his parents- UNLESS he is: in college; 27 and witha great excuse; or is taking care of his old feeble parent(s) * yells, gives me the silent treatment; or criticizes me i am sure there are more.....
hopesndreams Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Bad grooming, moustaches and dirty baseball caps.
