What is the difference between feeling and emotion? Are they the same? Please explain.

Great question!

A feeling is something you feel - And emotion is a reaction to that feeling.

You feel good, happy - Reaction (action) laugh, smile..

When I touch something I get a feeling. When I fall in love I go insane.

My explanation is that the emotion is the raw energy of the mind and the feeling is the construct of that energy; the definition; the explanation.

In noun form and used in the same context, they're synonymous.

An emotion is a particular physical state. Like sadness, anger, or happiness.

Feelings are the experience of those emotions. You crying is the manifestation of feeling sad.
