Just thought i'd post about my LS addiction. I had every intention of staying away for awhile, giving myself a break from all the sad stories that seemed to just lead to backslides for me. taking some time to get myself together. After a few days, I realized that i seem to feel better when i am here and sharing my experiences with others and trying to help those that are going through what I am going through. Makes me realize why all the old timers here stick around, I really missed it and felt very good receiving messages asking for my help and advice even after i had left, I felt an obligation to answer and genuine concern for those I have come close to here, (although a big part of that is some folks just keep pulling me back to it!) a list that gets longer everyday. So while I am still going to try to cutback, I am addicted and found i can't leave LS entirely and while some people come and go here, I just feel I'll be here a good long while.

Also thanks for those who wrote me PM's E-mails etc. regarding my health issues, there where a lot more then i ever would have expected.:D Just returned from quite a few tests and have had a total of 6 doctors tell me the same thing. My job is slowly killing me! So now it is a decision of where the road of life is going to take me now. So much in my life has changed in the last six months, I honestly don't know how i am still standing, but I am and in the end it is largely due to this place and the support i have found here. Thank you all!!!

Really good to see you back Tojaz!

Very quick post, sorry, very tired...

The job, well as you know when my ex left he put me on the street essentially with no job. It's d**m hard to change direction, to find a different path and to know which way is the right way to go and yes, it's yet another stress and upsetting transition that you don't need, but you survived your worst nightmare and I have no doubt you will survive this too.

I keep saying this to you, but re-train as a counsellor, you would be fantastic!

I second that Lisa, Tojaz would make a great counselor and we are all very lucky to have him back on here. ;)

Why the hell do we not have a blushing smiley!!!

thanks both of you, but I'm not near smart enough for counsellor status, forever condemned to the dirty fingernail brigade (suits me just fine though) Only time I've ever been in a place of higher learning was to pick the ex up for lunch! LOL Just somebody who talks too much and has had an interesting but crappy life he dosen't mind to share!

Tojaz, I feel life teachers lot more then any book can.

I guess I might be one of the old timers, been around for a year now.

It does help to share your story, but for me if I can help one person then I feel what I went thru was worth it.

I didn't ask for what happened, but because of the grace of God I'm getting so much more out of what happened.

There are those that just try & drink there way thru, but I feel those that come here are serious about wanting to make there life better & they just need some support to know it will get better.

Good to see you still hanging around.

Sorry to hear about your health. As I said in my PM to you I do understand how all that stuff can make you feel......We don't know what is down the road & fear is what keeps most of us from trying something new, but hopefully with what has gone on for you it will make you stronger if a change is on the way....

I'm proud to call you my friend.

True, this board is filled with heartache and sadness, there is also alot of love. Friends caring and supporting each other in hard times.

Maybe it does trigger backslides, but there is something here that keeps calling you back, somehow, someway, I think it is beneficial to you.

I side with Lisa and trippi, you do have a talent, you might not see it but others do

Sorry about last nights game. He beat my niners in the last play the previous week

Did you see the shot of the Vikings fan with the purple cheesehead? Now that was ugly

Yeah, I saw it. Hated seeing the Pack lose, but to be honest Brett deserved his revenge after all that happened. I was in GB when the trade to the Jets went down, the place erupted media everywhere, they showed a lot more of the story there then ever made it national. Waffling or not, you don't just trade an icon like that, sure he's not 1996 Brett, but he was one play out of sending them to another Superbowl, even at 40, the man can play!! As much as I hate to say it, I hope he whips them at Lambeau too! He deserves it after they refused to retire his number last year.

Seriously, purple people eaters are looking real good this year, definitely the team to beat in the north.

You know you can post in other sections of LS, not just here.. There's a health section, a fun section (water cooler, confession/rant) so don't feel you have to stick to one area of this place... From one addict to another.. hehe..

No, not accepting this! You are smart, one of the smartest people I know (including those doing Law on my course)! Often it is those with life experience that make the best therapists, not those who have learnt form books, in fact here in the UK you cannot do a masters in Counselling until you are 25 years old, and the vast majority that do the diploma are in their 30's, 40's and 50's. Absolutely no reason why you could not do it (there are part-time courses here, some only requiring one full weekend a month for 9 months, so must be there), and you would be very good at it. You help so many now, think how many more you could help.

Well, I appreciate the compliment, but i don't know, I think you give me to much credit. While I like to think that I do some good on LS, it is on a subject that I am well aquainted with and i have the luxury of picking and choosing the threads i get involved in. A luxury a real therapist would not have.

Granted you wouldn't be able to pick and choose the clients, but you have a talent for getting people to look at things differently, that's all counselling is, helping someone to see things from all the other perspectives and find their own answers. If you think you wouldn't enjoy it, that's fair enough, but we all think you would be brilliant.

Well, maybe I'll look into it. Going to need to do something pretty soon. I'll have to do more research on it and see if it's something I can handle. I think I might enjoy it though, I really enjoy LS, so who knows.

Has the whole world gone mad!!!! I just returned from my therapist and she suggested that I would make a good counselor! This is turning into some sort of conspiracy, One of you paid her off didn't you?? Or this is a big joke, can't you all see that I'm dumb as a stump! LOL

So do I need to come over & take that stump & thump you along side the head?????:D

Let me say it this way; how many bodyman have you seen that go to school & "read" on how to do body work can do it until they put in many hours of on hand work??????

You can read all the books you want but until you are hands on you will never get the job done.

You have been dragged thru the mud, you have been dragged thru the crap so you understand what it feels like.

I would love to help people out, I still believe in marriage & if anything I can share with someone would help them get the help then that would make me feel good......

You were just telling me a change in jobs would be a good thing for you.....

There one more to jump on the band wagon for you my friend!!!!:cool:

It might not take 6 years, there are different types of counselors, some could be 2 or 4.
