Does it mean something if a girl you're dating wants to facebook you?

So yesterday I was out with this girl the second time and we were talking about social networking sites. We asked each other if we were facebookers, which we both are. But that was it, we didn't ask about exchanging info/emails but we just have each other's #.

I called today to set up another date and along the lines she asked me if I had an email. I thought it was a bit strange since she could easily call me later in the week to confirm the date after checking her schedule.

Does it mean something?

The only time I ask for a guy's facebook is if he's my boyfriend, that way I can add him and put his name in the "In a Relationship with [insert name here]" box. Other than that I don't add guys I'm just dating usually. But that's just me. Maybe she wants to find out more info on you via facebook, it is good for that I know. ;)

I feel like a jerk actually because I didn't give it to her. LOL. But you do make a good point about her wanting to find out more info. I don't know how I'd feel about that because we're just getting to know each other and having to reveal these things to her on my facebook (e.g. wall/photos) - may not be such a good idea.

Lol, that's why I wait to add people. With my boyfriend now I waited to add him not because of what he could find out via my page, but because I knew my crazy/nosy friends would start trying to add him so they could talk to him. And sure enough, one day after I added him my best friend had sent him a friend request and one email on the site. So yeah I'd wait a little bit if I were you.

Are you implying that she asked for your email address so that she could send you a friend request on Facebook? I personally would never make the leap from an email request to assuming that meant it was about FB, but I guess I am getting older....

So assuming FB really was her end intent, either she's a friend collector, and it means nothing; or she wants to spy on you.

Yes I'm pretty sure that's what he's implying. Although I think you can find people without their email address if you know their name and location. I guess having an email address would make it a lot easier. :o

Dont ever bring up facebook and dont add her if you dont have to. Its too awkward if a breakup happens.

I honestly wouldn't put any weight on it. I've had guys ask me to find them on facebook, guys friend me after two dates -- whatever their actions were, it didn't correlate or give any indication to our dating status or future.

I am glad I am not on FB.

What is it that you have on there, that makes you folks paranoid that someone you are interested in would be SPYING on you? If it is a social networking site, then isn't the POINT of it to let your friends know about your life and what's going on and other idiotic things about you, like what super hero you would be? If you are able to go on a date with someone and talk about yourself, your dreams, your desires, your thoughts - then what the heck could be on your FB of all things that you couldn't share?

I'm up to 15 friends on facebook.

their all people I know in real life & are friends with.

I wouldn't add someone I had dated or casually knew because I really don't care to clog up my wall with BS.

I also hate having to scroll if a few of my friends are bored on the same day & decide to post every little accomplishment they make in a facebook game.

Difficult to understand if you've never had FB, and you've never had a problem with it. ;)

People (male and female) flip out over ridiculous things, like party pictures, how many friends of the opposite sex you have, how many people of the opposite sex who are commenting on your page, a status update, a comment a friend made about that "wild party," etc.

She isn't a friend, she's someone he's been on a couple dates with.

Yeah, stuff like that basically. I don't mind facebooking her, but I just wonder if it's a good idea at this stage since we're dating. The last time I facebooked a girl after going on a couple of dates with (after deciding I wasn't interested), she disabled her entire wall.

For certain people it can be a sensitive situation they find themselves in.

I can think of so many examples from people I know who allowed facebook lead to the demise of their R. Or even covering the evidence of an ex on FB after getting into a R with someone new (ranging from posts to pics, etc).
