Shin0bi1 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Hey guys/gals, recently I have accidentally came across an old flame that I had dated back when I was dumb, stupid, and in my early 20s. Many things have changed in the last 10 years of my life and I have an opportunity to see this girl soon. I was wondering if you guys/gals ever had an opportunity to revisit a passion or infatuation with someone that didn't quite work out because both of you were to inexperience and immature for a serious relationship. Thanks for reading! And yes I'm excited about my date this weekend! haha ) -Shin0bi1
CaliGuy Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 No but my first thought is "That was 10 years ago. I hope she's sending you RECENT photos." When I think about people from my past where we haven't seen each other in 10+ years, I was always amazed. Many had let them themselves go. Only a few took really good care of themselves and it showed. Best of luck. Just start over, like she is a new person. Whatever you knew about her then, odds are, she has changed significantly. Cheers!

I saw her facebook profile and she looks exactly the same. I'm the one that has changed as in thinning hair, a lil bit bulkier, etc.. I had a nice phone conversation the other day and talked for a couple of hours and hit off pretty well. Just a lil' nervous meeting in person and wondering if it will be awkward or not. -Shin0bi1
prettybaby Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Yeah but it's complicated and we were in no position to actually date 10 years ago. Anyway, fast forward years laters, we started dating last year and things are pretty serious now. I do consider him my soulmate.

What do you think the reasons are you two working out well in the relationship now? Just curious... Thanks, Shin0bi1
prettybaby Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Well, he was my teacher in high school, so it wasn't even an option. I tried to stay in touch when I went to college, texted and called him a couple of times during those few years, but nothing really came from it. So long story short: I moved to the other side of the world, got married, then divorced a few years later, moved all the way back, I was single, hadn't talked to him in years but decided to give it another shot and called him out of the blue last year. We met up for lunch (I felt so nervous and apprehensive before I got there lol), and then lunch turned into dinner, which then turned into a whole series of dates, and now here we are!
