Lulu Posted June 6, 2000 Posted June 6, 2000 I have been dating this man casually for a while and I found out that he has a son who is a year older than I am. While it does not bother me, I am wondering how to approach my relationship with the son? any ideas?

If you just get serious but down't marry the guy, treat his son like any other person. If you marry this guy and his son becomes your stepson, treat him like any other person. If you stop dating dating this guy and his son asks you out, treat him like any other person. If you start dating his son, treat his father like any other person. If you start dating his son and it gets very serious, treat his father like any other person. If you start dating his son, fall in love, and marry his son, then you should treat his father like the stepson he is who could have been your husband had you not chosen his boy. And there you have all of your choices, depending on the outcome of your current relationship.
