mortensorchid Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I admit it, I saw one of those commercials on TV for EHarmony and the like, and I am thinking that I want to try it again online. But I just can't. I'm so tired of disappointments and crazy people and the liars and the like, I just can't do it anymore. I realize that I am just falling for a marketing ploy ("See the ad, and you WANT / NEED it"). Someone convince me to do something in the right direction.
nobody's girl Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Here's one good reason not to join those dating sites. http://chrisabraham.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/nobodyknowsyoureadogontheinternet.jpg
Lauriebell82 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Do you want convinced that you should try online dating? I personally would not do that as I would be afraid of liars and phonys. Where else do you go that you could meet people?
sunshinegirl Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Well, online dating does work for some people. One close friend of mine met her husband on match.com; another close friend met hers on eHarmony. I, however, have put plenty of money in the coffers of both of those online companies and have experienced a 0% return on investment.
Author mortensorchid Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 I have experienced the same as all of you. I know I just saw the ad and I'm thinking I want to try even though I know better. It's like, as I said before, I saw the ads and they're saying "Buy our product", and I'm just a sucker for mass marketing tactics. Thank you for your insights, I will NOT do this. Not again anyway.

I think it's a gamble as to whether or not it is worth it. My philosophy is that you are just as likely to meet someone who is wrong for you on that site then any other place.
