green apples Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 On the first and second dates, is it better if the guy talks more or asks more questions? I've read that guys talk more in the beginning because they're trying to impress the girls. But does that mean they aren't interested if they are talking about themselves more than asking questions? Guys, if you like the girl, what do you do in the beginning?
ReturnToSender Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Depends on what hes talking about...in an effort to impress, when a guy hits the floor running talking about himself it puts me off...it comes off as self absorbed. I think it should be a mixture of both people being curious about each other and asking questions...answering and then asking a question of ones own. Balance. Nothing worse than a date where a guy is just talking about himself and barely asks me anything, if at all. Makes me wonder if he just likes to hear himself talk...know what I mean?

He talks about himself in reply to questions I ask. But I feel it's a 60/40 thing, 60 being my questions and 40 his. He isn't being cocky but I still think he should have asked me more questions.
ReturnToSender Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Well..he could have just been nervous and rambling on... Its hard to say...
