JaggedRoad Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 It's 5'oclock and I turned on my computer ready to make a long rant about the ex. As I was typing, I asked myself, "what is this going to accomplish?" I've already made my rants, so what's so different about the one I was going to write? Nothing. So what did I do? I sat here in silence for about 5 minutes and let all that emotion settle, and it felt great. It felt like I had power over myself again. I suggest everyone in my position to do the same. Sit in silence for a while and let your emotions dissipate. Hmm... I'm not sure if it's really working. My head is starting to hurt
deux ex machina Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 ... Hmm... I'm not sure if it's really working. My head is starting to hurt Awww... Don't let your head hurt so much, you might need it one day. I relate to your post. A lot, actually. Getting into the present moment is a very healthy thing to do. Your suggestion is great - thanks for sharing that.
TaraMaiden Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 This is amazing advice. If I may be so bold, you have actually described a method long taught and used by Buddhists for millennia.. Centering and staying in the moment. breathing and focussing and paying attention to whatever is happening. Brilliant.
Odyssey Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I'm glad others have caught on to this method.
