trippi1432 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I'm taking Dela's idea - what gets you thru the day? This one has become my new motto song. "Lessons Learned" by Carrie Underwood There's some things that I regret, Some words I wish had gone unsaid, Some starts, That had some bitter endings, Been some bad times I've been through, Damage I cannot undo, Some things, I wish I could do all all over again, But it don't really matter, Life gets that much harder, It makes you that much stronger, Oh, some pages turned, Some bridges burned, But there were, Lessons learned. [Chorus:] And every tear that had to fall from my eyes, Everyday I wondered how I'd get through the night, Every change, life has thrown me, I'm thankful, for every break in my heart, I'm grateful, for every scar, Some pages turned, Some bridges burned, But there were lessons learned. There's mistakes that I have made, Some chances I just threw away, Some roads, I never should've taken, Been some signs I didn't see, Hearts that I hurt needlessly, Some wounds, That I wish I could have one more chance to mend, But it don't make no difference, The past can't be rewritten, You get the life you're given, Oh, some pages turned, Some bridges burned, But there were, Lessons learned. And all the things that break you, Are all the things that make you strong, You can't change the past, Cause it's gone, And you just gotta move on, Because it's all, Lessons learned.
MrMayI Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 i'll play. this is wilco's "sky blue sky": Oh, the band marched on in formation The brass was phasing tunes I couldn’t place Windows open and raining in Maroon, yellow, blue, gold and gray The drunks were ricocheting The old buildings downtown Empty so long ago Windows broken and dreaming So happy to leave what was my home With a sky blue sky This rotten time Wouldn’t seem so bad to me now Oh, I didn’t die I should be satisfied I survived That's good enough for now With a sky blue sky This rotten time Wouldn’t seem so bad to me now Oh, if I didn’t die I should be satisfied I survived That's good enough for now
quankanne Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Heaven by Los Lonely Boys and , by Pete Townshend first is a supplication to God, other is a love message from God ...
delajoonal Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Stranger than your sympathy This is my apology I'm killing myself from the inside out And all my fears have pushed you out I wish for things that I don't need All I wanted And what I chase won't set me free All I wanted And I get scared but I'm not crawling on my knees Oh yeah everything's all wrong yeah Everything's all wrong yeah Where the hell did I think I was? Stranger than your sympathy I take these things so I don't feel I'm killing myself from the inside out Now my head's been filled with doubt It's hard to lead the life you choose All I wanted When all your luck's run out on you All I wanted You can't see when all your dreams are coming true Oh yeah it's easy to forget yeah You choke on the regrets yeah Who the hell did I think I was Stranger than your sympathy All these thoughts you stole from me I'm not sure where I belong Nowhere's home and I'm all wrong And I wasn't all the things I tried to make believe I was And I wouldn't be the one to kneel Before the dreams I wanted And all the talk and all the lies Were all the empty things disguised as me Yeah stranger than your sympathy stranger than your sympathy by googoo dolls.. p.s. its not so much ALL the lyrics, as just a few..and the melody gets me EVERYTIME..especially unplugged...ahhh my heart!
Thaddeus Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 , by Pete Townshend ...a love message from God ... Oh! Great tune! I didn't get the connection with Townshend's religious beliefs from that song, but when I read the lyrics it actually makes sense (I saw it as a basic "boy tells girl he loves her" thing).
Auroracoladybug Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Okay so a couple of different ones... Watcha say by Jason Drulo (sp?) the guy is J and I am the girl singing chorus Echoes by Gorilla Zoe Goodbye (Kelly's song) by Alabama and I could go on and on in many different types of music
Auroracoladybug Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Matt Kearney Lyrics to Closer To Love : She got the call today One out of the gray And when the smoke cleared It took her breath away She said she didn't believe It could happen to me I guess we're all one phone call from our knees We're gonna get there soon If every building falls And all the stars fade We'll still be singin' this song The one they can't take away I'm gonna get there soon, She's gonna be there too Cryin' in her room Prayin' Lord, come through We're gonna get there soon [Chorus:] Oh it's your light, Oh it's your way, Pull me out of the dark Just to show me the way Cryin' out now From so far away... You pull me closer to love Closer to love Meet me once again Down off Lake Michigan Where we could feel the storm blowin' down with the wind And don't apologize For all the tears you've cried You've been way too strong now for all your life I'm gonna get there soon, You're gonna be there too Cryin' in your room, Prayin' Lord come through We're gonna get there soon [Chorus:] Oh, it's your light Oh, it's your way Pull me out of the dark Just to show me the way Cryin' out now From so far away... Pull me closer to love Closer to love 'Cause you are all that I've waited for All of my life (We're gonna get there) You are all that I've waited for All of my life You pull me closer to love Closer to love Pull me closer to love Pull me closer to love Closer to love, oh no Closer to love Closer to love Pull me closer to love

Author trippi1432 Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 Original work in progress...~ MKH 9/19/2010 Here alone, without you to hold me The smell of you still lingers in my mind I hold each memory as a sacred part of me Each time I have to go and leave you behind I'm barely gone and I'm already crying Barely gone, but inside I know I'm dying Trying to stay strong Keep my heart where it belongs Each time just gets harder but what can I do? I'm barely gone, but I'm already missing you. I long for the day I can see your smile Hear your laugh and feel your warm breath on my skin And though I know it's only for a little while I love the memories until I can share them with you again. I'm barely gone and I'm already crying Barely gone, but inside I know I'm dying Trying to stay strong Keep my heart where it belongs Each time just gets harder but what can I do? I'm barely gone, but I'm already missing you. Barely gone, but I'm already missing you. Sheesh....I'm such a loser, stupid song...should be writing Melissa Ethridge tunes..grrrr...... :o:o:o:o:o:o
The-Zen-Warrior Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I found this song about 3-4 days after my divorce, I've never really shared this with anyone. But this song and it's words helped me in my most darkest hour! I played it almost everyday, at least once and let the words hit my heart. Sometime when my friends are over and my iPod is connected to my living rooms home theater system, and the iPod starts to play it, sometime I have to run over and hit "shuffle", even today the song can make me cry, don't want to look like a leaky faucet to my friends, but I'm sure they would be ok with it. "(This Is A) Song For The Lonely".........by Cher When you're standing on the edge of nowhere There's only one way up So your heart's got to go there Through the darkest night See the light shine bright When hero's fall, in love or war They live forever [Chorus:] This is a song - for the lonely Can you hear me tonight? For the broken hearted, battle scarred I'll be by your side And this is a song - for the lonely When your dreams won't come true Can you hear this prayer? 'Cause someone's there for you Well, love don't need a reason She can pick you up Or leave you bleeding I've seen a strong man cry I know the reason why We all forgive, we all forget We just keep believing [Chorus] So let it find you Wherever you may go I'm right beside you You don't have to look no more You don't have to look no more, oh no [Chorus] It's gonna be alright It's gonna be alright It's gonna be alright This is a song A song for the lonely And that's not you only Through the darkest night You're gonna see the light Love don't need a reason Just to leave you bleeding Can you hear this prayer? Someone's there This is a song - for the lonely Can you hear me tonight? For the broken hearted, battle scarred I'll be by your side And this is a song For the lonely I love the video to this song, bought it off iTunes about 2 years ago, heck in anyone wants to see it, this is the link..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44hsyI9YWv4 Thank you Cher,.........thanks for saving my life.........I love you!
