Talk online, call each other, watch the same movies, play games with each other, et cetera.

video chat online! it really makes a big difference seeing live video of them talking to you.

mattsgirl09,

All of the above, plus talk about and make a plan for your next visit -- whether that be to see him or him to see you -- no matter how far in the future that may need to be due to money, schedules, work, or school.

It will give the two of you a common goal -- something to look forward to and work toward together which can quite often keep you both "on track" mentally and emotionally when things get tough, as they so often do.

Welcome to LS, by the way. And, thanks for sharing your story.

Don't hesitate to come back, visit and post often. There are lots of people here who are also in your shoes that will tell you it helps to be able to share with and vent to others who know what you are going through as opposed to overwhelming your partner or friends/family with your thoughts or concerns who may not be able to understand.

Best of luck and congrats on such a great visit! Hang in there and you'll do fine...

All the best,

TMichaels

Most importantly, call each other when you're outside. It makes a big difference.
