aerogurl87 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Ok so I've been dating this guy for almost a month and things are going great, yet we've yet to talk about whether or not we're exclusive. I'm starting to think that he thinks we are though, although I'm a bit lost. Now my birthday is coming up and although I told him to get me a small gift (we've only been together for less than a month, nothing big needed I thought), he's decided to get me something that is somewhat expensive, a very nice Ipod touch. Now I'm really confused because I know if I were a guy I wouldn't buy a girl a really nice gift like that unless she were my girlfriend. Especially if she wasn't having sex with me (which we aren't). Now I really want to talk to him about what we are because a part of me is going to feel really bad about taking such an expensive gift from a man I'm just dating. So basically, I guess what I'm wondering is what would you do if you were in my situation? Would you take the gift and still wait for him to bring up the subject of exclusitivity or would you bring it up yourself?
redhighheels Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I'd be *very* reluctant to accept such an expensive gift at this point. You're not his gf and you haven't had sex yet..I'd probably feel like I "owe" him something if I were in your place. He does seem concern with impressing you, and that's always a good sign I wouldn't bring up exclusivity, I leave that to the guy.
Author aerogurl87 Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Redhighheels, yeah well I don't feel like I'd owe him anything since I've told him not to get it for me. But yeah, I'm thinking I should leave up the talk of exclusivity to him, maybe he'll bring it up soon.
