Hkizzle Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I just read "The Manual" by Steve Santaganti. They made the movie "The Ugly Truth" based on him as well. So this guy is basically getting rich off being a jerk. Throughout the whole book he praises how great the bad boy is and how a woman can change the bad boy. Men don't change for women, believe it or crash and burn.
alphamale Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Men don't change for women, believe it or crash and burn. generally they don't but its the woman's belief that the man will change and that she has the power to do so
New Again Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Granted, I read this book quite awhile ago, but I didn't come away thinking it had anything to do with "changing" a bad boy. His whole premise was the difference between a real bad boy and a player, and then it was simply a book about how to date men.
Author Hkizzle Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Granted, I read this book quite awhile ago, but I didn't come away thinking it had anything to do with "changing" a bad boy. His whole premise was the difference between a real bad boy and a player, and then it was simply a book about how to date men. Yes, he said at the very beginning of the book that bad boys are players are different. Right, and every player I know doesn't think he's a player. I got player friends that say they want to settle down and get married and when I take them to parties with lots of girls their tongues literally roll out and fall on to the ground. Judging from the way he writes this guy is definitely a player with narcissitic tendencies. He also writes at the beginning that he will teach women how to change the bad boy. Which is total BS. Men change when they learn integrity, not because they are infatuated with a woman, or under certain manipulative techniques. That can control a guy for a few years, but in the end he will revert back to his baseline personality. That's one of the reasons why so many people get divorced. You can tame someone temporarily but not forever.
New Again Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I'll take your word for it...I read it too long ago, and didn't pay enough attention to debate this with you I do remember thinking the author was a flaming whack and a scumbag. Very obnoxious and narcissistic.
sumdude Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 generally they don't but its the woman's belief that the man will change and that she has the power to do so A man marries a woman hoping she will never change which of course she does. A woman marries a man hoping he will change, which he probably won't but if he does it probably won't be in the way she wanted!
Jaytb Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Oh for the love of God rip my eyes out OK, but you clean up. "Throughout the whole book he praises how great the bad boy is and how a woman can change the bad boy. " a sucker born every minute.

Yeah that's a pretty common statement, wonder where it originally came from.
