If you are better at writing when you have an issue with someone versus talking it out one on one. Sometimes not all the time I find that if I wrtie it down I get out all that I want to say. Sometimes when addressing verbally I will forget points ect.... Thoughts????

I am the same way, and for me, yes, it's a problem. Going back and forth with emails or other forms of written communication when trying to work out an issue or communicate a problem is a terrible way to go, and most people are not OK with such a form of communication.

Try to write everything down you want to say beforehand, so it's all fresh in your mind; also try to condense it into key points you can remember during the discussion.

Just my two cents.

I communicate much better in writing. Because of my ADD, I tend to get distracted at times and actually find myself repeating things I've already said if I'm saying them in person. I like to write it down and read back over what I've said. Because of the issues Rylle mentioned above with people having issue with that form of communication, I try my best to communicate verbally in person and then supplement with email if I feel I forgot something.

But you're not alone on this one. :)

I'd forgotten where I'd read this but the standard amount of time that people will wait for a verbal response within normal conversation flow, is usually less than 10 seconds. When you write something down, you have all the time in the world, to think of the things you want to say and how you want to say it.

I think it helps to practice verbal communications. The more you talk to more people, the easier it gets to verbally communicate.

And yes, sure, I forget talking points too, unless it's during a heated fight with an SO. Then I remember everything...mwahahahaha....
