The morning after pill is good for up to 72 hours after intercourse. If you're so worried about it, why haven't you taken one?

Have they approved it for use in the USA? I'm fairly sure they have it over here but last I knew it wasn't yet legal in the states. I know its always a worry getting preg and all but honestly I don't see it happening in a bathtub? Even if he did ejaculate into the water unless you had you legs open and waiting and he aimed please excuse the crude image there but no other way to put it.

Then yea unless it went down like that then your good the only way he could have gotten you preg otherwise would be if he had super Fallopian tube womb seeking Olympic swimming sperm! I mean the guy wasn't mike Phelps was he?

Those kind of swimmers would have been obliterated by the chlorine in the hot tub.

It's unlikely as hell- but nothing is impossible.

Yes, based on the article, it was approved mid-2006, for over-the-counter sales to people over the age of 18. bac is in her forties.

Oh ok I wasn't aware of this thanks Tbf..

I thought it was a bathtub we are talking about I guess the water still has stuff in it tho? I really don't think she has anything to worry about but if its a big concern bac then you should see your doc or call and find out the exact odds maybe..

ROFL! Now THAT, my friend, is hilarious.

He must have felt like a goof!! LOL

Like me, he was a teenager, so he probably could have wrapped a slip-n-slide around that thing and it still would have blown him away.

Does anyone else think this is concerning?

I thought the OP was a teenager given the nature of the posts.

Statistically, only 1 in 4 fertilised eggs ends up as a viable pregnancy.

So I thought it wouldn't be that easy to get pregnant, esp as I am over 30.

But I got pregnant the first time we tried it unprotected around the right dates. Bam! Just like that. And two of my close friends were the same.

Doctors tell you to hold onto the news for the first trimester because you are more likely to carry to term without problems if you clear the first 12 weeks, but from experience, its very very difficult to keep that kind of news to yourself for two months, esp when they have technology now that exists that pretty much gives you clearance to tell all from about 8 weeks.

Well congrats! :bunny:

Plan B is legal in the US, and you don't need an rx. You can just go to a pharmacy that carries it (I believe most do - I mean, even Wal-Mart does) and ask for it. Show id, cuz you have to be over 18 without parental consent I believe. Don't know if insurance covers it or not. Without insurance it costs roughly between $30 and $50 depending on what pharmacy you go to. Planned Parenthood sells it for around $30, which I believe is the cheapest you'll get it for.

Sooner you use it the better, because it's more effective that way, and it should be within that 72 hour period that TBF mentioned, but if you read the package, it actually says up to 5 days after the fact.

I hate to take the pills because I had already taken them a few months ago. So, it is not a good idea to take these pills often. I wonder how often you can take them per year.

I'm no doctor so you'll have to do your own research on this. Try googling it.

Maybe the better question to ask yourself, is why you're not on some form of birth control, that doesn't rely on the man. Responsibility for pregnancy belongs to both sides of the equation. Pragmatically speaking, the side that fears pregnancy the most, should be the one to take a more pro-active approach, to reduce the risk of pregnancy.

Well I am not sure, but I have heard its not recommended to use them as a regular form of birth control.

Bac, it sounds like you need to have a think about a regular form of birth control that suits you and your needs. Make an appt with your doctor or local family planning clinic to discuss what would best suit you.

I must say, for a woman in her 40s you are very naive about this.

No, its not possible to get pregnant by giving a blow job. Not in the bathtub, not in outer space, not anywhere. Nor can you become pregnant from a toilet seat. Or from wiping your mouth after oil sex and then using the bathroom.

You have more chance of experiencing immaculate conception.

What? that story isn't true? Next thing you are going to tell me there is no Santa.... ;)

I'm sorry but I have to agree with sb here your 40 and this is a issue for you? I'm not putting you down Hun but you need to start having a little more personal responsibility for your actions.

What if you do accidentally get preg one of these days? sure pills are not good but neither is abortion. I would hate to see it come down to that for you! Do yourself a fav and get to the doc and discuss some birth control options theres some very good ones out there now adays why not cover yourself so theres never any worry? ;)

Tooth Fairy

oh, SHE exists. I talk to her on a regular basis. (one way of getting kids to behave at the dentist).

Bac I hope you get things sorted out. This kind of stress every time you have sexual contact is going to take the fun out of it.

Agreed - I think the dating and sexual stress needs to come down a few notches - you'll feel much better
