I even did not notice because it was not much, but he told me that he did. So, his sperm partly went to my mouth and partly to the water of the bathtub. Because I do not use any contraception I am afraid of getting pregnant. Does anybody know if it is possible to get pregnant through sperm which is in the water of the bathtub? Does anybody know where I can find information about it?

Especially since hot water will make his body produce fewer sperm, temporarily.

Sperm can only survive in warm water for a few minutes. Added to the fact, unless your virgina's 'open' - i would say, you're safe from getting pregnant. However, STD (especially from infections) is a different story. But since you didn't have 'water sex', it's very unlikely too.

If you are still worried, speak to a professional, and also speak to them about methods of birth control that will suit you so you don't have to go through this worry again.

It isn't likely your house is gonna get struck by a terrorist attack but it still is possible. OP, if you're paranoid about getting pregnant, don't do stuff in a bathtub. If there's soap it greatly lessens the chance, though. Also, get a pregnancy test done; heard they're free in the USA.

Statistically, it's hard to get pregnant (and carry to term) - isn't that one of the reasons doctors warn new mothers to hold onto the news for the first trimester? I practice VERY safe sex - bc pills and condoms, and I have Plan B just in case! Parenthood will most definitely be in my future (I hope) - just not for another few years.

I wouldn't worry about it. As others have said, if you're in the least bit concerned, get the morning after pill.

Statistically, only 1 in 4 fertilised eggs ends up as a viable pregnancy. So I thought it wouldn't be that easy to get pregnant, esp as I am over 30. But I got pregnant the first time we tried it unprotected around the right dates. Bam! Just like that. And two of my close friends were the same. Doctors tell you to hold onto the news for the first trimester because you are more likely to carry to term without problems if you clear the first 12 weeks, but from experience, its very very difficult to keep that kind of news to yourself for two months, esp when they have technology now that exists that pretty much gives you clearance to tell all from about 8 weeks.
