Let me preface this by saying, I absolutely love my career! So leaving it is not an option, nor is staying and putting up with certain things either.

A particular associate who I administer to as that is my job and duties, insist that she is ABOVE the rules and regulations. At various times through out her service there she has caused the company money. And I am not talking a few grand. A federal lawsuit being one of them. She had even sued our company because her office is piled high with papers and files ( she has a terrible organization skills!) and she tripped over her items and hit a filing cabinet. She sued the company for unsafe work environment! No one told her she COULD use the floor for her stuff, there were plenty of filing cabinets for her to place her things.

The Most recent shannigans in which I instructed her to follow workflow when doing orders ( she is a sales rep), She defied the instructions and did it her way. This caused the staff to be in an uproar over her being the exception to the rules. When confronted she came up with a cheap shot that it was written in the file how the new procedure was. Turns out even after having a sit down meeting and telling her she just cant willy nilly a procedure, she played innocent to upper management and with child like eyes says "gosh did I do something wrong? She dern well knew she did! She is Cunning and sly. She is also middleage and knows how to work the boss's.

I was pulled into MY boss's office and was asked why I was picking on this associate. Ya see the chick is untouchable because when filing a lawsuit we apparently are NOT to ruffle her feathers or she will use that in court.

So basically my boss asked that I chill and let this one slide. He even pulled up this chicks latest sales report and showed this chick has double sales . I said yup and she has cost us all that profit to be dumped into defending us in this lawsuit. Her margin of profit is 9% which anyone who works in business knows that is boarderline NON Profit status! I am so sick of this person! SHe is self righteous, Never in the five years admits mistakes and never apologizes when she cost the company money because of her bad sales techniques. Here is an example: Product sells for 13k, she'll take a trade in which might be worth 2,000$ but because in her eyes the customer bought the product 4 yrs ago she will look to see how much they paid back then. Lets say they paid 10k. So she cuts the deal where they get charged only 3k for a 13K dollar Product! We lose! I cannot get her to understand that does no good for us to keep trading in a product that bears no where near that FMV in todays market!

Bottom line- This chick is passive-agressive and down right mental. I really do think someone needs to recommend she seek therepy. I even asked my HR department to research this. They said they can recommend this for an employee unfortunately because this employee perpetually creates lawsuits she is untouchable.

I would hate to lose this career, the company deserves dedicated employees, yet I am literally up against the wall in even implementing certain procedures as this chick is the exception. I did ask to be transferred but my boss vetoed it. He said I am admin there and I need to learn to deal with it. Deal with what??? I am left with no authority to administer procedures or see that employees follow workflow charts. I have NO say when a sales rep goes willy nilly on a deal. Sounds to me like I am there in title only. ( Yes some of you would be like Hey! Hes making it easy for you, you don't have to do anything other then collect a paycheck). I believe my talents and efforts can be used in another department though.

Sorry for the longevity of this post, some of you probably celebrated a birthday from reading the length. Just looking for feedback on how to maybe handle this without needing a shrink myself!
