Oceanflame Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I like large than average women, with a higher than average percentage of body fat, most people like somewhere in the middle. Why is it that I like something usual?
Island Girl Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Everyone has their own dating preferences. It doesn't make you strange or abnormal in any way. I, for instance, have never been attracted to blonds or redheads. Ask the girls you are attracted to out and proceed in relationships just like anyone else. In fact because of the body type you are attracted to you have more choices available to you in this day and age. You have a very solid opportunity to find love and happiness.
Rebellious Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 If we were all the same as you, the skinny girls would go begging. I prefer skinny, and flatties are just fine by me:bunny:

quankanne Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Why is it that I like something usual? you might be immune to popular culture, which insists the only mates worth pursuing must be buff (men) or waifish (women). The reality is that while there may be folks out there who fit that requirement, most of us aren't underwear models or Hollywood stars. And that's okay.
Ruby Slippers Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Good for you for being aware of what you actually like, rather than subscribing to the media's distorted and narrow definitions of what's attractive.
bebeblondie Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Do you like obese women or just curvy women with a little extra meat on their bones? To me the word voluptous is used very loosely, I think there is a difference between obese and voluptous and very often I see obese women described as voluptous. In short there's nothing odd in liking curvy/voluptous women, I actually think more men prefer that then would like to admit.
Bejita463 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 To me the word voluptous is used very loosely, The word is often used incorrectly altogether. It makes me think of the guy on Princess Bride who kept stating everything was inconceivable.
bebeblondie Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 The word is often used incorrectly altogether. It makes me think of the guy on Princess Bride who kept stating everything was inconceivable. I agree, for instance the women on that show "More to Love" are described as voluptuous, when in actuality (with the exception of a few of them) they are heavy some are even obese.
Island Girl Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 The word is often used incorrectly altogether. It makes me think of the guy on Princess Bride who kept stating everything was inconceivable. Really? it is defined as: Giving, characterized by, or suggesting ample, unrestrained pleasure to the senses: voluptuous sculptural forms; a voluptuous ripe fruit; a full, voluptuous figure. So if the guy says he likes voluptuous women he is using that term incorrectly? As far as whether he means simply plump or obese beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What he would find voluptuous and attractive to another would be too much and to another not enough at all. He can use the term to describe his type and there is nothing wrong with that at all. The term voluptuous is in fact a very subjective adjective.
Bejita463 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Giving, characterized by, or suggesting ample, unrestrained pleasure to the senses: voluptuous sculptural forms; a voluptuous ripe fruit; a full, voluptuous figure. So if the guy says he likes voluptuous women he is using that term incorrectly? If what he means by the term is to describe a specific body type, yes. That is what I was referencing. Unless there is an alternate meaning I am unaware of, the word is describes something that is sensuously pleasing. It is not a classification of weight, which is how I most often see it used. Am I incorrect? I'm willing to learn if so.
Author Oceanflame Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 When I said a higher than average percentage of body fat, what I meant was 5'6, 250 pounds, etc.......

Unless there is an alternate meaning I am unaware of, the word is describes something that is sensuously pleasing. It is not a classification of weight, which is how I most often see it used. Am I incorrect? I'm willing to learn if so. That is it exactly. Sensuously pleasing, and often used in reference to a woman, with no constraint as to the definition of what parameters because what is sensuous and pleasing is completely subjective.. I read his statement that he likes curvier women than are seen in magazines or on TV as "hot" or what he is told by society is "hot". Curvier may mean a little overweight or it may mean he is a chubby chaser. He means what is sensuously pleasing to him. Whichever the case may be, there's nothing at all wrong with it, knock yourself out dude.
Island Girl Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 When I said a higher than average percentage of body fat, what I meant was 5'6, 250 pounds, etc....... You didn't need to clarify but since you did - you'd be what is referred to as a "chubby chaser". Plenty of men are and if you google it you'll find dating sites, etc. of people JUST LIKE YOU. There is nothing wrong with you AT ALL. You just happen to have an appearance preference for heavier women. More power to you my friend!
Trialbyfire Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I don't like the pumped "gym rat" puffy body type for men. This makes me a little different than a lot of women. So what? You're attracted to what you're attracted to. Everyone has subconscious or conscious criteria. Accept it and don't worry about it!

Trialbyfire Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 What about ruggedly handsome, lean runner types with strong leg muscles? That type, attached to intelligence and a wicked sense of humour, has always been my downfall!
northstar1 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 That type, attached to intelligence and a wicked sense of humour, has always been my downfall! Good thing I don't live in your part of Canadaland, or there'd be trouble a brewing
Island Girl Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I prefer the Rugby player look. Ahhhh now! Me too! My husband played professional Rugby in Australia and has kept up his physique. He is a bit meaty for TBF's taste but he is a GOD to me! YUM!!!
northstar1 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Are you my roomate? Jon is that you? I prefer the Rugby player look. So, built like a brick sh*thouse with a 19 inch neck?
