IDK, redheads with curves are pretty hot. I didn't spot a wedding ring.... ;)

Carhill - I didn't know you were getting divorced. :( Really sorry to hear that. :(

Shadow - I watched the video. She does an OK job as a dance instructor. The steps aren't exactly complicated choreography, and she's easy to understand.

Physically, she's an attractive woman in good shape! I didn't read the comments, but anyone who had anything disparaging to say, has too much time on their hands. I don't think she posted the video to get beauty queen points. but to offer some pop dance instruction.

Usually, I'm pretty dismissive of dumb comments people make on the internet, but somehow reading the comments to this video hit a nerve.

I couldn't believe all the responses about her "fat" body and how old she looks. This is why many women are insecure. Sure, she could stand to lose a few pounds, but to me her body looks great for her age. She doesn't even have a trace of cellulite.

Also, she doesn't look that old to me. What is she, late thirties, early forties, tops? Do men consider this over the hill?

It makes me feel like even if I continue to take care of my body and stay fit as I age, that won't be good enough.

:laugh::lmao:

why are you learning beyonce-dancing in the first place

Put it this way..

What of you see some guy on youtube who is 45, wearing bicycle shorts, no shirt, semi-chubby, not that handsome, teaching some male strip routine. The women's comments would probably be 10 times worse.

Yes of course

I think its interesting so many of the LS women are piling on TBF simply for having a bit of taste.

I mean is it really so out of bounds to criticize a middle aged white woman for wearing a dated 80's hairstyle and dancing around like a black teenager?

If so why?

Id like to know

OP

I didn't have time to read the whole thread. Don't fully understand the intent of the original post. I agree that her outfit isn't the most up-to date or flattering. But, she looks darn good for a a woman her age.

yes, for her age.

You've gotta understand that people do age. Thread was probably started to bait another age argument.

Umm well when I was a white teenager I "danced like a black teenager" if by that you mean hip hop...it and I was pretty damn good at it...not the best, but I never looked awkward like some white people AND some black people for that matter, you either have it or you don't. It's an AMERICAN art form, yes it comes MOSTLY from African Americans, which is awesome, and I thank them very much for that gift, but it really evolved as an American art form, just like blues and bluegrass, and rap and jazz, and rock and roll, and grunge, swing music, tap dance etc....some of which have more black influence, and some more white (and some other cultural influences)..and some more in the middle, but all are invariably a combination...even if it's just a sprinkling...as we are a "melting pot" nation...Even as our country was drowning in racism these things found a way to evolve as perhaps a sort of unintentional group effort and that is something to be proud of as Americans, all of us. And for that matter if you are not American you still have just as much right to do the Beyonce dance, though I would advise against this particular one.

Anyway there are no rules or laws against someone of a certain color doing a dance that is native of another culture ANYWAY. It's more of a tribute than offensive (although this particular dance would not be my pick). So yes that is definitely offensive. Also, Beyonce is not a teenager anymore anyway, she is a very beautiful young woman in her mid 20's now, I think.

The reason all of this critique is so very offensive though is because it is so very UNIMPORTANT. If you do not like the style of her clothes or hair, then you can say it straightforwardly, but perhaps without so much bitter anger that we can practically feel coming out of our own computers through your choices of phrases...If you want to get mad about something, why don't you get mad about slumlords or corrupt politicians or something, or even your burnt toast in the morning cause your toaster is messed up...whatever...

But it is completely out of proportion and ridiculous to get so very angry about something like this...I personally feel that a little tackiness in the world is actually quite needed, if only to make us appreciate the more tasteful and lovely things a bit more. Not everything exists in this world just to be easy on YOUR eyes. Some people actually have other things going on in their minds.

But onto more important matters of taste....I have always thought Beyonce has one of the most beautiful voices ever...I also thought it was totally TASTEFUL what she did at the VMA's, acknowledging Taylor Swift after the whole Kanye thing, when she won HER award.. That is a classy lady.

But really on the subject of taste that is about much more important stuff...

The woman is vibrate, confident and attractive.

She looks better then some 20 year olds and she clearly knows how to dance. A little tough up on her make-over couldn't hurt.

The people here that say she looks good "for her age" are just being silly.

At least she isn't sitting infront of her computer complaining about her relationships like we do. She is actually active and in shape. *gasp* how dare she.

Anonymous posters diss people on the internet.

More news at 11.

exactly...she has a life...and it is not her priority to please and get the approval of some random strangers on the internet that have nothing to do but critique her and try to crown her "worst dressed".

Well EarthGirl I'm flattered that you would respond in such depth to the four or five sentences I wrote.

Youre correct in that it is nothing to take seriously, but this is a thread soliciting our opinions on this Youtube video and all we were doing is giving them

Let me say that dancing is somewhat absurd in and of itself. Moving around to sounds is just kind of silly, although I suppose it is an established ritual in almost every culture I can think of. I even used to enjoy getting sloshed and moshing about to industrial tunes in my younger days

So Im not advocating crucifying this woman or anything, but I think its ugly when middle aged women try and emulate what younger women do and can pull off much better. And most of these kind of moves are kind f vulgar in and of themselves anyways

I mean its kindof like we've really returned to the primitive/ like everything is a baboon mating ritual

Just look how beautiful and graceful this choreographed scene is compared to those videos

Burning, this may be very hard for you to understand but those videos are just as lovely and dear to me as your clip..in fact if there WASN'T dancing like that...(what you call vulgar-again, I do NOT care for the Beyonce video, but rather for the videos I posted...ok the Madonna one is very taboo and sexy and usually that's not really my thing, but I like it mainly for the look, the cinematography and the intricacies of the group choreography..very difficult), to ME, it would truly be a terribly depressing world with something missing....I guess I live in a different world in my head than you do. By the way, to ME , it's not really that much about sex at all, in fact in truth I am a bit of a prude although I do not like to admit it-but I am, especially outside of a loving relationship. It's not primitive, it is decidely an evolved art form and a lot harder than it looks...

However, since you seemed to like that kind of folk European dancing with ladies in lovely dresses (I know nothing about this kind of dance except what I've seen in movies, Shakespeare in Love I remember, and Pride and Prejudice was it?)..I wanted to ask have you seen The Sound of Music, particularly the scene when Maria and the Captain dance in the courtyard at the party before the children perform for the guests. I looked and couldn't find it on youtube, but I am tired and have to go to bed, I'm sure it can be found somewhere..if not, and if you have never seen that movie (it's just plain neglectful parenting IMO if parents are aware of that movie, have the money to show it to their kids and don't), it's well worth the money to buy a DVD. That is one of my favorite scenes ever, just beautiful.

..As for middle aged women not "dressing their age" ...I think it's hard enough when your body changes into something you don't recognize.....let alone for people to tell you that you just can't dress the way you want to anymore. Again, no rules...

I mean what do you really consider "ugly"?...I have a cousin who is an ER nurse and I just watch ER and Grey's anatomy (not to mention CSI's and stuff...even worse sometimes) and I can't imagine the kind of not only stress and terror she sees but frankly, the plain grossness....Guts falling out of someone's body, THAT is ugly. I'm sure you get used to it, but still...A woman who dresses "too young for her age" is not really hurting you physically or emotionally..it's not like you are dating her. In fact you have nothing invested at all except to make presumptions about the way people should dress and carry themselves based on age, race, etc.

You know what? I'm really digging what Earthgirl is saying.

And I agree, a little tackiness in this world is fun!

Some of the comments about this women are not just about having an opinion. They're downright nasty as if this woman has done something to personally offend you. Earthgirl is right. You can just about feel the nastiness coming from your computers. And while it's perfectly ok to state them, it's a little tacky, IMO. And not the fun kind.

As a matter of interest, how does what someone wears or how they, look effect anyone?

For me, I may make certain assumptions about what that person does for a job or how much self-worth they have, but it never makes me feel bad in any way, even when they're in the public eye. Maybe I just have too much self-esteem to feel jealous? Or maybe this is an American thing where there seems to be an enormous amount of importance placed on image?

Who says she is trying to emulate younger women? Who said dancing was only for a younger narrowly defined crowd? Do you know how many 50+ year old men I see surfing? GOOD FOR THEM. That they are living a healthy life and doing the things they enjoy and having FUN. *gasp* ANd guess what? They do it wearing surfer swim trunks.

You know, on this board, alot of the men's opinions about women seem to be you are damned if you do and you are damned if you don't. Instead of celebrating a woman that is off her butt doing something she clearly loves, living her life and happy, you want to condemn her because she isn't 20. God. Why do any of you men even get in relationship. We all age. Every last one of us women age. And we don't want to be worthless because of it. And we don't want to stop living life and having fun either. People live so long now-a-days and you want to cut women off at the hip in spite.

This isn't an issue of an older woman trying to emulate younger women. This is an issue of some guys here not liking to see a woman truly be free and enjoy herself. I mean, I just can't understand what is so offesive to some of you seeing a woman have fun, and doing a good job of it and NOT being vulgar. People of all ages love to dance. It makes people feel alive. She is obviously very skilled at dancing. I can't do what she is doing and I am younger then her! Men don't reach a certain age and stop wanting to do the things in their youth that made them feel alive either. Stop being so mean and negative.

If this is your attitude then it sounds like you want to kill the life in all women because you clearly hold no value for them.

I don't think she looks bad. She's not a glamour or anything though.

Jersey Shortie, aren't you bored of repeating the same stuff over and over and over and over and over and over and over again? Surely there are better things to do in New Jersey?

I think she should dance to this song instead as watching her dance looks like it sounds much more like this to me

You know what I like about this site? Just as I'm in danger of falling into a procrastination-threatening "better to fail than not try at all" mindset, someone like you will post a link that soundly disproves the theory.
