Die Hard Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Oh the vanity of a woman knows no bounds! More often than not, in my experience, women often confuse insecurity with vanity. If women aged more gracefully(not physically but mentally) the world would be a much more peaceful place for men, and women would be a tad less touchy about looks and age.
Star Gazer Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Ummm...this is about an individual who chose to put herself in the public eye, in a way that looks ridiculous. Says who? YOU? C'mon, TBF. Who made you the style police? I don't support ridiculous. Neither do I, hence why I take issue with the way you have torn this woman to shreds for no apparent reason other than... other than what, exactly? What's the purpose behind criticizing this woman?
Taramere Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I think a tied back hairstyle and a less made up look would have looked neater and more natural, if the point of the video is to encourage more people to her classes. Dancer's long, straight sweatpants and losing the sweater would have given the simpler, casual but classic look I'd expect a dance teacher to wear during classes - but Jilly Bean would be better to comment on what dancers would normally wear in rehearsal. I think she probably went for the leotard and no sweatpants look because part of the dance involves jiggling the bottom. Showing as much of an unadorned bottom as she can gives a better idea of the movement - which would, I guess, be her main priority when she's trying to teach people a dance move.
Star Gazer Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I think she probably went for the leotard and no sweatpants look because .... ...she was trying to imitate Beyonce in the Single Ladies video.

Taramere Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 ...she was trying to imitate Beyonce in the Single Ladies video. I know (though why the legwarmers??). If I were looking for a dance teacher, I'd be more inclined to go to one whose online video showed her in casual, rehearsal wear rather than dressed up (and with her hair done)in imitation of a pop star. It would just give me more of a sense that she was giving a class. Then again, that's just my view. She's the professional and she'll have a far better idea than I do of what is most likely to attract people to dance classes.
ProudMumOf2 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 What's the purpose in posting on the Internet? What's the purpose for your criticism of my comments? Who made you the criticism police? Have you ever wondered why you're too scared to even get up and sing some karaoke?
Star Gazer Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Have you ever wondered why you're too scared to even get up and sing some karaoke? I'm not. I'm also not afraid to work outside the home!
boogieboy Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Theres nothing wrong with this woman. The video is a stretched slightly to fit the full widescreen on youtube, I hate it when that happens. So it makes hee look slightly wider than she really is. Then theres the 10 lbs that the camera put on her. So IRL she is probably really slim.
northstar1 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Well, here is another version. Personally I think this one works better because they aren't wearing the leg warmers. I think the black is kinda slimming
Trialbyfire Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Have you ever wondered why you're too scared to even get up and sing some karaoke? I can't sing, that's why. If I had a decent voice, I would do it. As it stands, I've linked a sample of my acapella singing on LS that can attest to the truth of this!
Author shadowplay Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Is that the type of woman I want to see dance? Of course not. why not? .................
Tayla Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Reviewed it. Actually I first read the comments here, with the PRE CONCEIVED IDEA this woman would be bug-ly. She wasnt. She was attractive , great smile, Nice skin tone and had a smooth style in the way she spoke and taught. I call that classy . WTG for getting out there! Sophia Loren still looks STUNNING! As Did AUDREY HEPBURN until her passings. Gladys Night is hot with her attitude and preformance! I can go on with the ladies whom I preceive carry that extra IT FACTOR that surpasses the general public opinion that age and beauty cannot co-exist after a certain age. It most certainly can!
sb129 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Ummm...this is about an individual who chose to put herself in the public eye, in a way that looks ridiculous. I don't support ridiculous, whether it owns a vagina or penis. Ridiculous is subjective. You could have just said her style wasn't to your personal taste, rather than use such negative words. I don't think she looks ridiculous- I would never wear an outfit like that, but I am not a dancer (me trying to be a dancer WOULD be ridiculous) nor am I trying emulate someone else.

Changing the words, isn't going to change the sentiment. This woman trying to emulate Beyonce in outfit and hair, is even worse, than just someone with bad style.
sb129 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Well at least you used IMO as a prefix this time.
Trialbyfire Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Well at least you used IMO as a prefix this time. Then I'll remove it. She looks ridiculous. So does Donald Trump with his comb-over and toupe.
tinktronik Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Honestly, I think the woman looks great. In good shape and she's wearing black. It's all good in my book. Here is my add on for best dance though:
Isolde Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I think leotards can be icky, especially when these kinds of suggestive moves are being filmed. On little girls or on dancers, they look different. I think she would look fine in a bikini. Also, her hairstyle is incredibly dated. I'm sure men find this woman attractive IRL.
sunshinegirl Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Lol. I applaud her for strutting her stuff on youtube- I am not (and would never be) brave enough to do it. Who cares about her age/hair/makeup/age/clothes or whatever? Its never going to be to everyones personal taste. SHE is clearly confident in herself and thats awesome. The minute someone makes a criticism, no matter how small- THATS when peoples insecurities start. Leave her alone. Wholeheartedly agree with this +1
ProudMumOf2 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I can't sing, that's why. If I had a decent voice, I would do it. As it stands, I've linked a sample of my acapella singing on LS that can attest to the truth of this! That's not a valid reason. Talk about missing the point! The whole point of getting up and doing some karaoke is because you're not a singer. Just as the point of putting yourself on youtube like this is because it's like the karaoke of making your own TV show. Neither is something you take or critique really seriously

If you're a piss poor singer, you don't hurt peoples' ears by torturing them.
ProudMumOf2 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Yes and no. If you're a piss poor singer, you don't hurt peoples' ears by torturing them. LOL! Nobody cares, in fact everyone has a good chuckle about it. Apart from the people that miss the point of course and will never partake in some good old fun
EarthGirl Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 She looks ok... in a semi-embarrasing but understandably brave sort of way. I see what she was doing but she should have owned her take by dressing in a way more appropriate for her.. age? She would have really stood out then methinks. But I get it and its ok.. because of what she is trying to do - not many dare to bridge generational gaps nowadays... without surgery, so it is refreshing in some sense. Tsk.. why the analysis? Peoples comments on 'youtube' are rarely, if ever constructive. Take care, Eve xx she is a cute redhead...I would not consider her incredibly beautiful, but that is just my taste..it's not her face/body that looks dated...I mean she looks to me in her 30's but as far as I'm concerned anybody under 40 or looks under 40 gets to dress "young"...it shouldn't be only teenagers/early 20's girls get to dress a certain way, you know that doesn't last that long compared to our whole lives and existences, it's not really fair, and besides I think women in their 30's still look very young and beautiful when they take care of themselves, not much different than they did in their 20's, and if any difference, sometimes it's actually attractive...I am like that Jennifer Garner movie 13 going on 30, I have always kinda WANTED to be 30..maybe I just have not wanted to get to 40 so soon as it will probably go for me as time flies sometimes in this life...and beyond that as I always tell my mom when it comes to these things (she always has ideas of what styles are "too old" or "too young" for certain people)..there are no rules...that's my motto...people can wear whatever they want..unless they are in some sort of institution with a dress code..this is a free country everywhere else...You don't have to like it, but there is no law against it. As for the fat thing...did you LOOK at her LEGS...she is in totally good shape..I think she just has one of those baby faces some people have even as adults, that are adult faces but that are a little puffier and so it's kind of an optical illusion for people, but you know some people find those kinds of faces attractive ...you can't really see her upper body/arms with the baggy top..but it's obvious from her superbly toned legs and fairly small waist, that she is in pretty good shape...definitley not fat. I think it's really her outfit that is dated not her face or body (her hair is kinda retro though), but seeing as she is probably in her mid-30's, perhaps she is just stuck in the 80's with the leg warmers and all, the time of her coming of age...nothing wrong with that...also I hate to tell you but she is probably a dance or aerobic teacher, maybe a mom with young kids, probably very busy and she just thought it would be fun to make a "how to" video with the little spare time she has..so most likely she doesn't give a sh*t about what she is wearing or what people think...just that she took five minutes...went through some old leotards and tried to find something that looked kinda like what Beyonce and the girls had on in the video. Beyond that, I have to say I HATE that video...I like Beyonce a lot usually and I guess it's a catchy song, just the video especially annoys the HELL out of me..I am not a person to get annoyed easily, or has a lot of pet peeves...just every once in a while, and this is one of them.
