shadowplay Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcCQwImNd3c&NR=1 Usually, I'm pretty dismissive of dumb comments people make on the internet, but somehow reading the comments to this video hit a nerve. I couldn't believe all the responses about her "fat" body and how old she looks. This is why many women are insecure. Sure, she could stand to lose a few pounds, but to me her body looks great for her age. She doesn't even have a trace of cellulite. Also, she doesn't look that old to me. What is she, late thirties, early forties, tops? Do men consider this over the hill? It makes me feel like even if I continue to take care of my body and stay fit as I age, that won't be good enough.
donnamaybe Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 She looks good. She actually has muscle. The comments were probably from insipid little airheads with a profile like a zipper and the muscle tone of a newborn who eat one banana a day to keep from expiring.
IrishCarBomb Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 This is why many women are insecure. They are insecure because they actually give some thought and credit to such idiotic comments. Insecurity is contagious. Know thyself.
Author shadowplay Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 They are insecure because they actually give some thought and credit to such idiotic comments. Insecurity is contagious. Know thyself. You're right, but sometimes, despite our best efforts, a comment or two gets to us.
2sure Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 She has a great butt and legs , plus those lunges looked effortless.
Trialbyfire Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Her body and face are okay. It's how she's dressed, including her hairstyle, which don't match her age. Those moves don't help...
Phateless Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 People are just talking crap, that woman looks fine to me.

bayouboi Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 somebody needs to get that old lady a cheeseburger before she eats us all!
deux ex machina Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Don't you just love it when people hide behind their keyboards and act like dumbarses on the internet? I'd love to see what they look like. The thought crossed my mind that the audience for this vid are overtelevisionized, and easily swayed by media-hype. I'll bet they are deluded into thinking they themselves look great. Bet they don't. Something just tells me that. Guess they are used to seeing certain kinds of images. The cognitive dissonance must be overwhelming to them. I can't imagine they would handle it well.
Sam Spade Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I think she looks very good for her age. What is ridiculous however, is her dressing like that (and shakin' it like that) at this age.
Trialbyfire Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Can I plse, plse, plse be her makeup, hair and wardrobe person? I'd get rid of her outfit which looks like a dancer out of Flashdance and some elizabethan lord, had mated and had ugly progeny. That ridiculous boufant has got to go and so does the rest of her eighties SAHM hairstyle. Her makeup should be more natural looking, since she's got that girl next door face.
Crow9726 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 She looks good to me. Of course, I'm 52 now, so my tastes have changed some over the years. But even if I was 20 years younger, I would still think she looks good.
AlektraClementine Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I just wish I could dance. I've been trying to learn the thriller dance from those youtube videos for weeks now. Not going so well. Like, TBF..I noticed the hair. But the fact that she can pull off the moves totally atones for the hair.

Ignore the hair. And most definitely, no leg-warmers or ballroom dancing shoes. I would thin out her bangs and tie them back into a sleek ponytail that sits at the nape of her neck.

I agree about the ridiculous outfit, though.
Author shadowplay Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 how old would you guys guess she is?
AlektraClementine Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Definitely not as old as Tina Turner
Author shadowplay Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aace_prd/on/demandware.static/Sites-Lucy-Site/Sites-Lucy-Library/default/v1252957946598/Home/Sept09/Home_Page_01.jpg While this isn't a dance outfit, it's a workout one that would be age appropriate for her. Trialbyfire Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 just out of curiosity do you think it's age inappropriate for a woman of her age to wear a bikini at the beach? It depends on the style of bikini and also what her torso looks like. I can't tell by looking at the clip, what her torso looks like, under that hideous outfit. People should dress to suit their body type and overall look.
sb129 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I just wish I could dance. I've been trying to learn the thriller dance from those youtube videos for weeks now. Not going so well.. Lol. I applaud her for strutting her stuff on youtube- I am not (and would never be) brave enough to do it. Who cares about her age/hair/makeup/age/clothes or whatever? Its never going to be to everyones personal taste. SHE is clearly confident in herself and thats awesome. The minute someone makes a criticism, no matter how small- THATS when peoples insecurities start. Leave her alone.
carhill Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 A perhaps better picture I'd opine mid 30's...

Leave her alone. She's a great dance instructor, in that she's articulate with both verbal skills and body language. But...she needs to polish her look, if she's going to put herself into the public eye.
Trialbyfire Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 A perhaps better picture I'd opine mid 30's...A much better look for her!! I'd opine early forties.
sb129 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Who says? And why? She has already put herself in the public eye- and she is obviously cool with her own personal standards.
