Back in November of '08, I went out to a club and met this guy. We talked a little bit, ended up having an amazing, chemistry laden makeout session, but we didn't have sex or anything. Turns out he lives in NJ (I live in FL) and he was on vacation. We exchanged phone numbers. Eventually we started talking on the phone, and our conversations are great. They last for hours (sometimes up to 5-6 hours!!) at a time. Despite the fact that we don't hang out because of the distance, we tell each other everything and I consider him one of my best friends. We have been talking about meeting up again, because I think we are both developing feelings for one another. I am really nervous about this. I feel like I would be devastated if in person we don't click. But at the same time, I feel like, how could we not click with all the talking we do?? & We were attracted to each other when we met. Has anyone ever been in a situation like this? Is it possible that I could be in love with this person? Or am I just fooling myself...it's so frustrating!

Or am I just fooling myself...it's so frustrating! nikkir386, On one hand, meeting someone at a club and getting into a heavy make-out session with a complete stranger while on vacation is not necessarily an indication of "true love" -- more like an outcome of raging hormones and an alcoholic haze. On the other, the fact you two have stayed in touch by phone and have gotten to know more about each other after you parted is a good sign. The only way you're going to know whether there's something worth pursuing is for you two to meet again and spend more time in person. If there's a genuine spark you'll know that. If not, you'll know that as well. I understand you are nervous, but you need to find out whether this relationship is worth your time before you spend any more time/emotion on it. If you don't, both of you are just living in a fantasy world based on what *you think* things were like between the two of you when you first met. Hope this helps. And, welcome to Love Shack! Island Girl Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 You met in person and had sparks. Clearly you find each other physically attractive. Now you set about getting to know each other personally with character, personality, feelings, etc. All of which is extremely important and, while some would say it is harder to do so LD, myself and others would say easier to do LD. You have every chance of having a love connection. The LD romances that are more at risk are those where the people haven't yet been in person and do not know if the in person chemistry "click" is there yet. You don't have that issue. As long as you are both on the same page of making a go of it you have a really strong shot.
